No ice water hash yield

Hey all I know I’m prob in the wrong category or whatever but I just wanted to get this off my chest as it was a very stressful afternoon and maybe get opinions/advice.

I just finished harvesting some purple kush I was growing( first grow, was stressful but came out looking and smellin’ real nice!) I froze 90% of my harvest after trimming all major fan leaves and such off in hopes to make ice water hash. The room was 17 degrees Celsius and the water in the washing machine I was using was 0.5 Celsius, it was about 60/40 ice to water ratio. I ran the machine for 15 minutes and then ran the hose directly into my bags on a bucket. I put the 25u bag on first then the 43u and so forth increasing until I got to 190, the bag I used to store when putting into the washer was a 220. I got absolutely no yield whatsoever out of it. As in like maybe a little tiny pile of purple goop that was still mostly water anyway. I really don’t know where I went wrong and could maybe use come advice. I sprayed down all my bags and used a frozen spoon to try to scrap the micron part of the bags but there wasn’t even anything to scrape. Really disappointed in myself for messing this up but I guess I had to learn the hard way. But can someone help me figure out what I was supposed to learn? Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this and reply. Bless

Sorry, no in a small washing machine used for making water hash or for used in general in RV’s and such. They are very commonly used I guess

I'm guessing over washed to pulverization with way too much ice. About 25% ice in my runs.

Sorry to hear that.
Damn. Thanks for the reply that deff sounds like it could be it. Seemed like excessive amount of ice but I thought I read somewheres that bogus ratio. Thanks again

Frenchy has it right. Just enough ice to hear it in the machine. Cleaner wash. And more intact heads to collect. I'm a hash hound. What can I say? Amateur in training. But I'm happy with it. Here are some visual aids for you.

Wow that is some gas lookin’ stuff. I know it was my first wash but I can’t believe I did something as seemingly stupid as putting too much ice, the colour of the wash was nice and purp so I got excited only to pace back and forth for awhile ready to cry. Great to know though and am still certainly learning new things about the whole growing/washing/pressing process goes everyday.

Honestly feel for you. And bummed seeing that color. Hope you got some in reserve.

I failed to mention to only wash in short interval. A minute or less the first run. Then add 30 seconds each next wash. I can get through 6 washes before my hands stop me. And still material coming out. Just fresh cold water every load. Same flowers.

I press also. But only for bars of hash. Plenty potent and no sticky mess. LOL. 021.jpg

Can dry ice keif be pressed just as easily into rosin? I’m kinda a rosin fiend and my whole point to this was to make some good hash to press into rosin. And in regards to the 30 seconds wash why would you do such little wash times? Is it to reduce chances of beating up the trichomes too much?

The answer is yes to both questions.

whoever mentioned Frenchy is correct: it's the coldness and the light agitation that shakes off the trichs.

the roughness of the ice will smash them into bits smaller than your smallest catch bag. same thing when i first tried it with a paint stirrer on a drill. i beat those poor trichs to death. lesson learned

Don't give up on ice water. My hash beats like a heart after i touch it with flame. The Frenchy method is far superior to ANY other method out there. :-P when you run again, only run 2 minutes a wash. Tops. I start at 45 seconds.
