NL 4 & 1/2 weeks into floweing

Hi all,

I have three NL under a 400w HPS, I'm nearly 5 weeks into flowering. I veg'd for 3 weeks because I don't have a huge amount of space. Haven't used nutes at all. They've taken a good bit of abuse as its my first grow.

Just looking for an expert opinion on how I am doing. Also, how many weeks roughly till harvest (I know this is a typical ignorant newbie question but its not because I'm impatient its because I'm curing in a mates house and need to know roughly). Sorry the photos aren't great quality.

Any help much appreciated :)

these don't look much like NL to me, but what do I know...

Anyway, I'd bend the crap out of them to form an even canopy to maximize the use of light. You'll yield much more that way.
My favorite way of achieving that is by SCROG. look it up ;)

thanks for all the help. Don't think I'll be able to flower for more than about 10 weeks so maybe in a few weeks I'll increase the darkness hours to make them ripen faster. I know this will decrease my yield but what can ya do, unfortunately it'll have to be done

they look good.clearly showing their sativa genes.the ones i grew were totally indica.anyway your ladys have a long way to go yet by the looks of it.keep us updated,i really wanna see how big they get.

well I've read in many place that the more darkness during flowering stage then the faster the bud ripens, hence in nature how the light reduces, etc.

So if I don't give my plant any light they will grow the fastest?
And why marijuana doesn't flower in the middle of winter when there's less light hours and waits for the spring?

I just going by what I read in a lot of grow guides.
To quote growcannabis.com: "Use longer dark periods to speed maturity toward the end of the flowering cycle if speed is of the essence. (8-12 days) This will however, reduce total yield."

That goes for the last week or so and it doesn't really speed things up.
Check me if you wish.

I turn off the lights for the last 3 days when possible and it grows pretty much the same as if the lights were on.

But not from the start.

Im currently in week 10 of my pure sativa, and it is still producing new pistils and flowers so yes, they take up to 14 weeks. I have been running 10/14 for 10 days now and the only thing it is doing is causing more trichs to appear and it is not speeding up the finish as the trichs are still half clear/cloudy.

Pure sativa's sometimes need that light regime to even finish flowering.
In nature the time cycle already changes after 10 weeks.

If you keep it on 12\12 it could reveg on you. Been there, its ugly.
