Nitrogen, Magnesium, or watering problem?

I've looked at the FAQ and cant figured out the difference between the symptoms. Its been in the soil since a seedling and its at 18days now.

The leaves started to show a little yellow so when I topped the plant I also fed it a diluted 20/20/20 mix thinking it just needed more nutrients since the soil was so old. One day later this is what I got and it seems to be getting worse.

Know what exactly it is so I can fix it?? :blsmoke:

MY GROW.

to high P & K for veg.
20-9-7 or thereabouts would work better or even 5-2-2

If you think you added too much fert, flush it for 10 minutes with water...

doesn't look to be a fatal mistake, but f-, every week i see new shit and this has been happening for a decade

I'll take your advice and flush it but the light green/yellow appeared before I even started fertilizing thats why I added it. And even then I only added a small amount since my plan was to wait a little longer to fert.

I'm using a fish emulsion and epsom salt mix now to try and fix it.

What are you nuts. Your guessing it might have needed some nutes so you gave it some. Now your guessing you need to use specific things to fix. Man, if in doubt flush it out. Make sure you have good drainage, looks like you do. Mix phd water with 1/4 strenght nute and pour it thru. If there is a nute problem this will change that. If there is a nute lockout problem this will change that and if its a watering problem it will fix that. FLUSH IT and get some good nutes. VV

I guess I am. I didn't think of it like that. Thats why ph gets more acidic huh? lol

I have a brown thumb man, I have an idea what needs to be done but I really am just playing everything by ear. If I can make a few crops on the side I can save some cash so thats all I'm really going on...

Thanks for the help, both of you.

Stay with it. There are a few things you must have. If yopu are going to grow in soil a moisture meter is necessary. Proper watering controls the health of the plant. Ph testing kit. Gotta have good water. Thermometer, hygrometer. Gotta know what the temp and humidity is. Share your plan. We will try and help you. Remember, its a weed. Been growing for thousands of years. VV

victor always has good advice and if you have a brown thumb definitely get the gadgets he mentioned for moisture and pH if nothing else.

flush it out with about a gal of water for each gal of soil. pour some in, let it soak, pour some more, that will get your soil back to square one. let it get kind of dry to the touch on the surface before watering again.

So far the plants seem to have liked the bath. Over night the nubs at the top have sprouted and the top leaves grew into my light bulbs. I just hope the yellowing doesn't continue to spread. Will the already yellow leaves die off or will they get their normal colors back?

What I did was run 2 quarts of purified water threw per plant(unPH'd). Then one last quart with 1tsp fish emulsion(5-1-1). It's mild so it should be ok untill I get my ph meter. I bought it a few weeks ago from china(ebay), its got the moisture, light, and ph meter all-in-one but hasn't got here yet.

As long as the nute problem is fixed my next problem is the heat.
I have 6 CF lights (2000 lumen's each) in there with 4 computer fans, 2in/2out. But the temps are about 85-95 with the lights on(depends on what the house temp is at) and 80 with the lights off.

I'm thinking the CFM on the different fans is messing things up so I should just put them all on exhaust and try to suck some cold fresh air in from the bottom.
