I have a small area that i plan to keep 2-3 moms....

the area is 5' x 6' and about 4' tall

i have a Stanly blower for my air input from outside

no output fan

4' 8 bulb t5

oscillating fan

moms in 2 gallon buckets

coco and perlite

this sound ok? what would you change? (can't use hids in summer)
any pointers on keeping mother plants? kind of just like vegging right?

i want to take 16 clones in October...think that is possible under the t5?
thanks riu

sounds good should be able to fit more mothers in n area like that. no need for a exhuat fan if your not worried about smell, positive pressure is good for veg it helps keep the RH up.

T5 is a great vegging light i would run 4 bulbs for 12 hours and all 8 for 12 hours with a mix of florasun and 6500k bulbs.(florasuns for the 4 bulb 12 hour period since the redder light will help prevent flowering.)

as far as the medium goes i would use soil and top feed. it will require less maintenance and attention top feed once or twice a month after the first month while the soil "breaks in" so to speak. i would just use a bag of root with some additive to spread it out, or fox farm both are pretty hot straight out of the bag.

16 clones thats it? lol yeah youll probably be able to take them. i would take them as the plants grow to since they are mothers i would top and keep topping while feeding a well balanced diet high in both N and P.

i would do more than 16 in a cycle but i need to stay legit on numbers...(big hassle)
my t5 wont let me time when light groups come on...
lol i just looked @ the light and it's a 6 bulb not 8...opps,haven't used it in a long time...
i can have 2,4 or 6 bulbs on at a time....
would it be ok to run the input blower every other hour on a timer? trying to save as much power as i can....
i really don't want to buy new blubs....unless they can be had cheaply....
i can't really take any clones till October..when outdoor season is over....
two gallon buckets are ok?

i mean everthing sounds fine. as far as turning on the fan once and hour i wouldnt reccomend it but you could turnit off for 12 and on for 12. use whatever bulbs oyu got for now and replace half of them with new bulbs, x3 6500k bulbs should be pretty cheap.

2 gal buckets are okay for a while i would transfer as they get bigger of course.

i like the 6 bulb t5s the best but anyways that light should be fine but you needs some extra lighting to use all your space a 6 bulb t5 really only covers a 2x4 sufficiently.

i wouldnt even worry about going to hid t5 is perfect for veg and maintaining mothers. also im pretty sure youre not gonna want to use the red lights, because that is what promotes flowering im not sure why the person above suggested it. most t5 lights are 6500k which is meant to simulate the bright "white" light of summer not the yellow and reds for fall that promote flowering. imo.

pretty much.
but like the matrix rules are meant to be both broken and bent, its more a guideline than anything a lot of it has to do with the media you choose.
