They. Vege great, I'm adding a 2nd but I'm leaning to the Rw 150 for more red for flower. I'm seeing the limits with only one in a 3x3 but still happy with it.
I'm vegging under my XGS 190. Works great. But, to be honest, my cheap $150 Apollo 4 (custom spectrum based upon Grow Northern's Rebel Spectrum) is working well too. Just received a RW-75 which I'll add to the tent when I switch to flower in a week.

If I were you, I'd do the RW, maybe two 75s for added flexibility, redundancy if/when a light fails. Having an RW and XGS would give you a side-by-side comparison.

thats what i was eventually going to aim for, id like to have 3 or 4 of each the RW and XGS, depending on performance wether they all cover a flowering room or i use the XGS for veg, i will eventually buy an AT600 or two for a bigger project / room aswell.

edit: the only reason i haven't currently purchased an AT600 is due to the site not freighting to my area, id have to purchase from growers house. also shipping being close to 900 dollars opposed to 50USD was enough to point me in A51's direction for now.

The Rw 150 seems so close to the xgs 190 but i forget what thread somebody said the Rw seemed a little cooler running than the xgs. My buddy just started a grow with 2 vipars and one cheap off brand chinese light. I'm looking forward to see what those vipars do. I'm also eventually switching to a room grow and also was considering the at 600. I'm trying to retire in 2 to 5 years and that's why I'm looking at more quality lights with good warrantys. I want lights that last. I'm just getting one more light for now then wait, continue to grow and learn and see what lights come out in the next couple years. Then buy my room setup and retire. I pulled my plants out today to flush and look them over so here's some pics.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

I think it was BadKarma who said the RW runs cooler because it uses 150w instead of 195w. I think he said that in the context of the RW and XGS producing similar results, just that the fewer 45w were beneficial.

It would be nice to see a side-by-side grow. The RW is more discrete blue (via cool white) and red. I guess the question is whether the the warmer white provides enough, or wastes energy in yellow/green.

I personally like the more natural light of XGS. That's worth something.

Being just a 3x3 I'm leaning to the Rw because I just can't cool this room enough even with a/c. Any advantage I can get. 8 weeks of flower and almost done. Starting 2nd week of flush and things are looking good. Pistils mostly receded except one plants a little slower. Trichs cloudy and today just noticed a little amber. Looking forward to harvest and clearing out this tent to start a 2 plant grow along with party cup comp grow. image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

I flipped my XGS-190 to flower a couple days ago. Exhaust feels much warmer. It might feel warmer because outside temps have been over 110F (43C). When it's that hot outside it's like you can feel the heat indoors. Thermostat says 83F like any other day, but you feel it like infrared penetrating the walls. So, when I flipped the XGS's lights to full power, I really felt the heat. But, it could be because everything feels hot.

Added an RW-75 because I had an unexpected 5th female. I ordered a RW-150 to replace my Blackstar v2 HO (veg) light.

Earlier in this thread I speculated how it being mostly white might work in flower. That's not turning out. The plant beneath it keeps leaning to the XGS. (ha). It will be good to have an RW-150 to compare heat output. I want to get another RW-75 before the sale ends in August.

I gotta say, my two Blackstar 135w (85w actual) UFOs work really well in my 4x2x2' tall autoflower tent. I'm getting really good results from that light which is old-style "blurple" color.

Is Jeff giving previous customer discount on top of July August discount?. I think I've settled on the Rw 150, I just may pull the funds from 401 k to get that discount. I was going to wait till October but not now. My tent is in the back of the house where the a/c has the least effect. My temps get to 82,84 degrees usually. In the last 2 weeks some buds closer to the light fox tailed and the calyxes in the last week are real swollen. I was a little worried I didn't catch some hermie action so I popped a calyx off and it was filled with fluid. Just completed 9 weeks of flower and was going to chop today but seeing only what seems about 5 to 10 percent amber on the buds but most pistils have receded. More branches have collapsed down from weight of the buds. A little hesitant right now. I'm pulling them out to look all 4 over for how much amber there is then I'll decide to chop today or wait a little longer. Here's pics I took today.image.jpgimage.jpg

Saw a decent amount of amber so chopped!. Got em trimmed and hung up to dry. Again happy so far how things went. Learned a lot along the way and thanks to everyone who stopped by and gave input. I'll post a weight after drying but not concerned about yield , my number one goal was to successfully grow in a tent with led and I did it. Been a good day, stay safe everybody.image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

Dried till crispy outside and spongy in the middle. Been in jars for a couple days and moisture feels right, starting to rehydrate to the outside of buds and they're getting sticky. I just weighed again today and came in at just over 6 oz of bud plus I separated the real sticky frosty trim to make some bubble hash. I've been using the trim for brownies and the wife really likes it. 4 plants under one xgs 190 with no side lighting and I think this light did really well. 4 were too much, should of been 2. Now I want to try some top shelf genetics so I'm looking. A nice hybrid. Indica heavy.image.jpg

That's an impressive light to give you buds that look that good in a 3x3 tent with so few watts. Good job man! And, congrasts on the harvest, I hope you enjoyed the rewards of your efforts!

Bigeasy1, how's it going. I saw you picked up a couple a51 lights. I researched for quite a bit before going with a51. Quality, warranty, and upgrade path sold me. I have 2 xgs 190's. I'm just a hobbyist grower so LED lighting is good enought to get what I want. My current grow is a mix in gallon pots. 1 liberty haze, 1 LSD, then la plata labs 2 alien bubba and 2 Quinn n tonic cbd. The two la plata strains are regular seeds so I popped extras and filled the tent. I may have caused a lockout by forgetting to adjust my ph so the 2 barneys farm plants got calcium deficient. The LSD not as bad. They seem ok now. Here's pics of my current grow.

Sweet set up! Yea, I read through your journal earlier. I'm just a personal stash guy as well. Vary rarely run two plants at a time. I do kind of a perpetual grow. Every four to six weeks I'll pop another bean. I have the same tent you have but its a tight fit for two mature plants so I stagger them out. Mine grow like bushes. Three foot tall or so and fat. To do this perpetual grow I had to start running auto's and have been pleased with the results. I just pulled 150 grams trimmed and dried off a Barney's Farm Sweet Tooth. I'm excited to see how much better these Area 51's can do compared to my Black Star Chrome 270. I got the Black Stars dialed in so it'll be interesting to see the differences in the growing process.
