And today I bought the fox farm trio, 55bucks at my local..whatever it is. I shouldnt have fed them because they didnt neeeed to be watered today, but I did anyways, was a little excited and I havent really slept so I just wanted to get it over with. I followed the "seedling" instructions, gave it a half teaspoon to a gallon, then probably only used maybe 6 or 10 fl oz's of it. I caught the leakage from it and fed the two new widows without...idk if that was a bad idea or not but it wasnt too much.

I'm going to try to start updating every monday with a picture I suppose-excluding this one. Half a teaspoon doesnt seem like very much in a gallon..its hard to believe it even gets mixed through

its the best i could do with little to no knowledge.... i covered my greenhouse everynight with a home made blackout cover (5 layers of tarp and balck weed fabric) from the first week of july... induced flowering at least 2 months early .... kept it 12/12 without fail!.... but that was the only thing i did right hahahahaha

most nutes dont give very clear instructions at all... find it very unnerving... fox farm even give a seedling ratio?... nice... well let us know how it goes but yeah really small doses seems to be the norm

Yeahh well, I feel very uncomfortable doing this haha. I feel dumb mixing half of a freakin table spoon into a gallon, and then using like a 1\10th of the gallon, feels slightly ineffective . I guess I'll see how concentrated this shit really is. Everywheres I've looked and from what I've been told, you're supposed to start out with a 1\4th of what the recommend...I figured I'd just start with the normal seedlings dosage instead.

About shopping though..idk I felt odd standing in line next to someone's screaming baby (person infront of me) holding 2 bags of foxfarm soil and trying to balance the big ass trio bottles. All the time with a glazed smirk on my face

And man, that NL is lookin damn nice, shes blockin the other girls' tans . Stalk is getting fat and the leaves are looking big and healthy

if you have a fish tank air pump ...... put an airstone in your gallon container keep the air running through it, that will up the Co2 count and keep the water useable right down to the last drop.... no waste and more available Co2 for your plants

and yeah shopping for soil and nutes in october is a slight giveaway... more so if you have redeye!!! lol ... i felt a little easyr when entering my local hydro shop...as the people that worked there were stnking of quality weed

Dude if you running FF trio dont use anything but big bloom in the early stages FFof provides enough N and the BB provides the nutrients the seedlings need for branching.

Yeahh, I saw that while I was shopping that I didn't need to buy them all right then. If I didn't I would have spent the money elsewhere though...oh almost forgot, got my 5 NL and 5 ShortRiders in yesterday, not going to start them till these are in the room

Been a little bit since I updated, been meaning to but haven't gotten around toit..

They're gettin pretty big, bit too big just for that HID so I pulled up a dresser along-side the grow..armoire, and set up the HPS. Really temporary like set up..havent stabilized temps yet or anything but I'm not really too worried about it for some reason, I put a fan right next to it blowing up, staying around 85-88 (dont know how cold its gonna get tonight, possibly pretty low) I only put the NL and the Widow in there, theyre on day 25.

Like I said..the setup is a quickie haha. Overall I'm very happy so far with the growth of my plants. I would like to see hairs on that Northern someday soon though!!

looking nice and healthy... some really nice even green there, nice and compact, and i wouldn't worry about not growing them in a lab.. there doing lovely.

i think maybe that the flowering time is all to whack on the seedbank sites ... unless they are giving them 1000w per plant in there tests??? as most people are finding that it takes a week or more for signs of flowering after the retail suggested time frame

i was really worried about Nirvana N-lights auto .... as after i bought my ones i read loads of stuff saying they wern't true auto's and had to put em on 12/12..blah blah blah.. thats what triggered my mass seed buying antics (lol... but dont tell otherhalf) ... but i have been assured that the N-lights we're completely removed and new batches released after the troubles in 2010.... so give em time and they should do there thing

Yeah I'm not worried about it man, Im positive she'll flower soon, I almost think I can see white hairs starting but they could just be tiny leaves. The only thing Im worried about with my HPS...does it matter how far away they are really..? They havent stretched much-if at all, so far, so I dont want them to...but that thing is fuckin hot!

yeah just make sure there not getting too hot (use your hand) hps does throw out lots of light... and everyone i have heard says about 450mm/18" from the lamp is about as close as you'll get with an uncooled lamp... or bad stuff happens

Threw a boxfan in the entry way, temps should be way better now, went from 101 to 89 in about an hour or so. Hopefully won't get too low tonight but it only got to 78 lastnight, and the boxfan switches off with the light so it should be fine.

Also got a fancy digital timer today (needed the ground...I was moving shit around today and noticed that the ground FELL out of my old timer..damn lol )

I think the 10Auto seeds I have might have to go into storage for now. As it appears now that I'll be growing them all right here in the same room, the northern lights is going to be a trial for the smell control...

well n-lights is supposed to be "smell neutral" while growing..... but when you cut it your house will stink the same as any drying weed

I can dry them in a number of places that would embrace the smell if anything , but that is nice to know it isnt gonna be too smelly! The widow already smells a bit more, but if I shake the leaves on the NorthernLights, phew! Startin to get stinkyy!

I set up something more permanent but its still a temp. setup, took half..kind of mostly, of an old chest that I've used for assorted things ( a grow box, a grow hood) and am using it for...a grow light hood thingy again! Put it face down (with the top off) screwed two hooks into the bottom of it and I have the HPS hanging from it, put that ontop of a dresser and against the wall, the back is to the armoire and I have a little flap door thingy made out of car-window reflector stuff, its a lot longer than in the picture and goes all the way down to a box fan (the exhaust) on the floor, the intake is passive right now, coming in through beneath the dresser, hopefully being cooled by the floor (if you were wondering, I was planning on buying a stove hood from Lowes but...I'm cheap)

Some questions about Autos and soil in general

So I put the NL in a larger pot, probably like 2 1\2 gallons, I'll look at the measurement again later..it was in cups. Since Foxfarms says it does not need to be fed for 30 days, and my plant is basically on day 30 and its getting like 10x as much soil as it had that is fresh...do I even need to feed it at all? Or can it just go off from the nutes in the soil? To get the soil wet I mixed in a tiny bit of the diluted ass feed (1\2 teaspoon per gallon) that was diluted some more with a lot of water, just to feel like I did something, realistically it wasn't concentrated enough to say so) I'm thinking that in a week or so when it starts having hairs and such I should feed it a little bit of the flowering mix...but then again it says to go reaalll light on the nutes for autos so I dont know! haha wtf man, so many questions!

annnd on a side note, an old man I know told me Ruderalis plants are mostly unique to him in that, you can smoke the leaves and they produce some sort of chemical that gets you high? Possibly Cannibinoids or something of the sort..I always thought he was a bit of a quack but...the leaves are..shiny, it almost looks like there is some sort of resin on them...no clue!

Anndd, one more random question, so you say 18"? Sounds reasonable, I have the NL's canopy approx. 24" inches away from the lightbulb itself, shouldnt make her stretch any should it? I mean I have 50,000lumens on two plants...and speaking of that, ONE more question haha, should I just put them all under the HPS or keep the other two blue mystics and two white widows (the widows are only like a week old) under the HID light?

ermmmmm ... right i don't know what ff soil is like .... but defo go by the soil nutes ... if it says 4-6 weeks ... leave it 4 weeks and start 1/4 nutes again (my guess)

leaves (swag) are probs best used in hash making... i searched "how to use bubble bags" on youtube ...and i could not beleve how simple it was ... i'm getting some bubble bags as soon as i have a bag of swag in the freezer!

again i'm a newb... and i think you've got shit loads of light and stretching is much less of a problem with HPS/HID then it is with cfl .... my guess (again) ... make sure its dropped as low as it can be without feeling hot on the back of your hand ... and your sorted

Leaves are good for hash typically from any plant as the THC drips all over any lovely sensimilla . But he was saying that the leaves produce a chemical on their own...I do not understand this at all.

And yeah, the light should be fine! I just always think I'm gonna screw somethin up...checked it before they went off...it stays around 85-90 degrees. Haha hell yeah, I'm happy with these little buggers, I think theyre going pretty good considering I'm rather clueless

well my understanding was that breeders that included the Ruderalis strain into the auto's did so because of its unique ability to flower on a time based rota (like a countdown i guess), rather then when the seasons change and lower hours of light trigger the flowering (12/12)....
and that Ruderalis is the useful hemp plant (useful for hippy clothes,rope, animal feed and loft insulation) and has no use for getting stoned as it lacks in its original form the abillity to make/produce thc... and those other lovely chemicals we adore...

i'm sure that you could get better and more detailed breakdown.... and i have no idea if by mixing Ruderalis with indica (or whatever) does change things...
but i have had batches of really leafy "bud" material... mostly shade leaf and sticks with little bud to speak of and it's acually got me rather lean... so maybe i really don't know... would like to know now.. might start a fact finding mission (when i can get my lazy arse into gear)

Ohhh man, I screwed up pretty good I'm thinkin...I'm a freakin idiot.

Somehow or another in all of the burnt moving around and quick fixing and exchanging between grow stations and timers and lights...the schedules got set from 10am-12am....instead of 8am-12am....I've been having a bit of a curious problem..it appears as though that the widow that is under the HPS is sexing and showing hairs! but its extremely confusing, they almost look like little balls? I cant tell...They could even just be tiny whiteish-yellowish leaves starting because I have noticed that this particular plant's leaves are very light in color as they start out...but it is definitely something wrong! This is also why my NL hasnt sexed I'm guessing....so in a state of confusion and panic I isolated the weirdo widow in the armoire with the HID and put it to 12\12 since its already sexing...and put the 2 baby white widows and 2 blue mytics in with the northern lights, with a corrected light schedule..16\8...


How bad does 14\10 screw with things? or in other words, how much of an idiot am I?
