Nirvana Autoflower Feminized Blue Mystic Grow

What's up guys,

This is my very first grow and after a week into the process I decided to start a journal to see if I could get any advice. I did about a month or so of research (mainly over my winter break as I am a college student) and I decided on Nirvana's Autoflowering Feminized Blue Mystic seeds. The main thing that appealed to me about this strain is that it has a low odor when it is grown. I am aware of some of the negative attention this strain has gotten, but I went ahead an got them anyway.

I am growing one seed at a time due to space constraints. My box is 2 x 2 x 5. I painted the inside a flat white as that was the most doable/affordable option for me.

I am using CFL's as my lighting option. I am using 2, 30 Watt, bright white CFL's that output 2100 Lumens per light bulb, so 4200 lumens total. I am keeping the lights about 2-3 inches from the plant to keep a high light intensity and also to prevent stretching (I'd prefer to keep my plant small and bushy).

I have a two gallon pot where I am using Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. I also purchased Fox Farm's nutrients Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, and Grow Big. I don't plan on using these nutrients till about week 6 due to the autoflowering strain as well as the nutrients that are already in the soil.

I germinated my seed with the water glass method and then placed the seed in directly in my 2 gallon pot on Sunday, January 20th. It took some time to sprout and ended up poking through on the 23rd.

The main reason I am starting this journal is to gain any insight from the community as to what I can do to provide the best possible plant. As I stated earlier this is my first grow so any information is greatly appreciated. I also have some pics of my grow if you guys wanna check it out. cheers

it has been officially 7 days since my baby has sprouted. she is showing good signs of growth, although i noticed some discoloration and a slight turning up of leaf tips. I am thinking that this is heat stress, although my grow box is around a comfortable 76 degrees. any suggestions as to what is going on?

i did some research and came to the conclusion that my girl got some nute burn from the FFOF soil being that its a little hot on its own. I flushed the soil with some distilled water to try and cool the soil down which seems to be doing well as new growth is evident

not sure why my pics are coming up sideways, oh well

Plant continues to show good growth although the discoloration of the leaves has remained the same

I adjusted my lights and have also lowered the temperature to around 72 degrees. I am only watering when the top 1-2 inches of soil is dry. When I water, I water enough until there is slight drainage at the bottom of the pot. There is a steady breeze going with what appears to be plenty of exhaust.

As I stated in my previous post, to me it seems as the FFOF soil has too many nutrients for autoflowers at it appears my baby is experiencing nute burn. If anyone has any remedies they would like to throw my way, I would greatly appreciate it.

One thing I am confused on is how quickly my plant continues to grow even though it does not look to be THAT healthy.

added a better exhaust fan and my girl is already showing signs of appreciating it. Didn't realize how important fresh CO2 was, oh well, theres a lot to learn in a first grow

Day 21 (since sprout)
week3.JPGweek3.1.JPG

added 4 more lights so I am up to a total of 8 30 Watt Bright White CFL's putting out 2100 lumens each. Raised the lights, watered the soil less, and added a better exhaust which has led to a decrease in leaf discoloration as well as more solid green on the new leaves.

More good news is that my girl showed her pistils a couple days ago so it appears she is a girl. Very exciting things lie ahead, looking forward to the new growth

Day 28

Day28.JPGday28.1.JPG

lots of growth in the past week, watering about 4 cups of water every 2 days. also moved away from distilled water because of the lack of minerals in the water. looks alone it appears my plant is already appreciating it.

it also appears my plant has started to flower which is pretty exciting. I will be exchanging my light bulbs for 8, 23 Watt soft white bulbs for flowering in the next coming days. I also was planning on trimming my plant due to how bushy she is, but i figure i will let this grow do its own thing before i start trying new grow techniques, just to get an idea as to how this strain performs under normal conditions.

I am considering starting up my nutrient uptake soon and was wondering if i could get some advice from the community. this is how i plan on adding my nutrients:

1. At the beginning of week 6: half dose of grow big.

2. At the beginning of week 7: quarter dose of Tiger Bloom, full dose of Big Bloom and 1 tblsp of blackstrap molasses

3. At week 8: Half dose tiger bloom, full dose Big Bloom, 1 tblsp BSM

4. At week 9: 2 TBLS BSM

5. At week 10: flush for the week

What do you guys think?

Day 35

day35.JPGday35.1.JPG

start of week 6 is under way and she is flowering quite well. I counted roughly 10-12 bud sites and a few more that will be emerging from the thick bush in probably a few days. I added my first dose of FF Grow Big yesterday and she is showing some pretty solid growth from it. I used a half dose which was 1 teaspoon/gallon of tap water. she got some slight burns at the tips of her leaves but nothing bad. I will only water her the next 2 feedings to prevent further burn

I will feed her tiger bloom and big bloom at the start of day 42. My only question (which i don't know why I am asking because i havent received any help thus far) is whether or not to feed her both tiger bloom and big bloom at the same time, or feed her tiger bloom, then water, then big bloom. any advice would be appreciated

more growth, most noticeably in the buds. she has about 10 well developed bud sites and a few other ones that are still coming along. I gave her a quarter dose of tiger bloom and a full dose of big bloom with a tablespoon of epsolm salt to help fix her magnesium deficiency. she seems to be responding well, i might up the dosage next week

more bud growth which is always nice to see. increased the nutes this week with a half dose tiger bloom and another full dose of big bloom. I will most likely go for a full dose tiger bloom and full dose big bloom next week as it might be her last week of nutes. The bottom leaves are starting to yellow and the trichomes are starting to amber up. looks like i have about 3 more weeks of flowering. Looking forward to seeing how this all turns out

Day 65ish

day65.JPG

Well i cut my plant a couple days ago and have started the drying process. she had amber trichomes all over and was getting nice and frosty.

day65.1.JPGday65.2.JPG

any guesses as to what my final dry weight will be?

I also decided to make some cannabutter from my trimmings just to see how that would turn out. it came out to a total of about 3/4 cups of cannabutter which is about 1.5 sticks of butter, so i should be able to make between 12-16 average sized edibles. I will probably make rice krispy treats because they dont mold as quickly

day65.3.JPG

anywho, the grow has been fun and i definitely learned a lot, it would have been nice to get some feedback from the community but oh well, there was enough information already posted on the website to have a successful grow. I will likely be growing the rest of my seeds this summer once i finish up my semester here at my university. I have four more nirvana autoflowering blue mystic and one feminized LA woman. Should be a fun summer. If anyone is interested, i will post my smoke report after proper drying and curing.

stay lifted.
