Hey, finally seeing some flowers on my new crop... This is my first crop from seed using NFTG... I'm using NFTG soil #4, mixed with some Happy Frog that I had left over. Following the "advanced" schedule for the most part - still using up my Big bloom, Photo+ as well. Three bag seeds!

This little beauty indica dom..

This odd looking strain, hoping this is a sativa dom, certainly slow flowering (I'm just at end of 2 weeks into switch).

And this also sativa dom I think beast? I've had to super crop it three times so far...

Last two there have some droopy leaves from time to time, I think it's mostly stress from all the training... Will keep you posted! Last crop I didn't get good pictures, I ended up with a bit of white powdery mildew and chopped early...
Lookin good!! Love that healthy growth, your hitting that window to start building up the Herc!! They don't seem to stressed from your super cropping, could attribute to a slow down but I think she asking for MORE!! They look like they are wanting more calcium & Aminos to rebuild the cracked cells,as well as getting ready to hit her flower stride!! She can prolly take a 5 ml bump to Demeters and Gaia, 30 ml athenas and 45 ml or more herc!! Definitely lookin good homey!! Keep at it.....weeks 3-6 are so much fun!

What's your slurry numbers lookin like? Good time to get a fresh reading to verify they can take a bump, another option would be a Gaia flush!! Will pack a nice stress reducing punch and Will prime them to set the flower sites and be ready for production. Definitely get a slurry before its too late, better to have the guide than to fly blind through peak bloom.

Thanks guys I knew you would have good advice! Yeah slurry was 560 ppm, 6.5 ph for the droopiest one. What went in two days ago was around 960ppm/6.4 so I think she's eating pretty good it seems. Just started upping the Herc as you said last time. Also was thinking about a Gaia flush, good idea!

I agree with bubba, keep an eye on ppms. I would do a Gaia flush with photoplus added ph'd to 6.4 and water to No runoff, then slurry to see where that puts you so it can dictate how to follow up the next few feeds.

put my veggies in the amended soil , and there doing good !! wife made an mistake and used sink water instead of RO water , didn't hurt the plant but with any microbes in soil im sure there gone ..lol , well the plant was starting to droop so I hit em with RO with microbes and bam !! perk back up... ppm 640 with ph 6.4 , next 10 days or so these will be going outside , gotta make room ... as for the others I have clones already and all female ...

So the Gaia flush went really great. Girls perked up immediately and next day all the big leaves are nice and straight / pointing upwards. Flower growth has really started to take off too, although on this big girl, it's still one of the slowest to flower I've ever seen, which has me excited... Has to be sativa dom, really whispy looking, thin lanky leaves, and the flowers are growing in not in little "balls" like I usually see, but more like wrapped up inside the little leaves if that makes sense ha ha. All I can see are long white hairs. I remember this particular bag having very psychoactive effects, really weird mental stuff. Hoping for a break from my usual Indica heavy preference, but I've got learning to do in growing this kind...

Here's a pic of one of these big fan leaves and the flowers - right after she woke up... although I am seeing a little bit of clawing still here and there, nothing that has me concerned... probably from needing the flush I just did or pushing too hard too fast if I had to guess.

Also need to get pics, one of the other plants with the really explosive growth has a fan leaf with 12 fingers...

Good to hear that that flush got things moving!! Always nice to do one simple thing so that you know you are on the right track and can see the result from it. Your soil ph should start floating in mid to upper 6's, it's where the Herc goes into plant the most efficiently, as well as other Phos ions, this is why slurry is so important....gives you an idea whether feeds need to go in at higher or lower ph's to drift in the recommended ranges. The only trick to those longer flowering varieties is to keep the nitrogen a little deeper into flower so they have the growth energy once it is time to lower nitrogen inputs. I think you should keep it simple and continue doing what your doing, and take notes if you plan on running that sativa leaner again. If she seems to stay a week behind the other two, then make the decision to give her a little extra nitrogen. Keep us updated, keep asking questions, and keep doing slurries!!

thinking of starting a bokashi bucket using veggies that are left over and using some canabis leafs when I trim .. how does this sound ?

I do the same, super easy too!! I use a 2.5 gallon bucket with a sealed lid, but I'm bumping it to a 5 gal to use in my veggie beds. I put a 1-2" layer of growstone in the bottom for moisture to settle if need be, chop up organic matter and layer in mixing a little bokashi bran at a time and pressing it down to displace oxygen, and then top it off with some more bran, seal lid and throw it in a cupboard/closet. A full bucket is done and pickled in 12 days, then needs to go in the beds/compost pile/or work bin to finish and seriously enrich wherever it's placed. A bokashi bucket will crush stalks and stems too and become powerhouses of fungal dominant compost. Bokashi composting is truly amazing but it's only the first step, once it pickles the organic matter it needs to move to another compost style to finish and become a soil building tool. It would really be awesome to use when recycling soil mixes.....I can't believe I havnt tried this yet, just came to me as I'm typing this....So in a nutshell Bubba, definitely do it, even if you bury it in the mulch of your landscape you are doing right by the environment!! The way I been using my 2.5 gal is once full to top and fully pickled, I mix it into the lobster compost I use for my worm bins and let it finish in a 7 gallon fabric compost pot, then it gets fed to the worms or I will make a whole new worm bin with it. The ph needs to stabilize before I can have the worms live in it because they will go right for fresh bokashi direct from the bucket but it's too low a ph and can cause longer term problems. And the last thing I found out about it is you can tell how good your bokashi bran product is real fast as I've used many different brand names and some just don't pack the punch that others do.

awesome info !!! interesting to move it to the amended soil to finish .... or use in a worm bin .... thanks Irie... another question ? grow stones ? like hydrotron (clay pellets used in hydro ) ?

Hydroton would function the same. The growstones are from the company that makes gnat nix, except the grade is way larger like gravel size and larger. Growstone just went out of business though from what I heard. Anyways, just need to keep the scraps out of any standing liquid residues and give the liquid a place to go. I just use fresh pruned leaves, stalks, stems, trim so not much water gathers in the bottom of mine but the first bucket I did had no air gap separation at the bottom and the bottom half of my organic layers stayed to moist and the bokashi microbes didn't colonize it before the stinky guys took hold!! Lesson learned, now no matter how tight I pack in the scraps above the stones, the bokashi microbes web and colonize like roots all the way through. I pull out chunks of pickled bokashi composted matter that is ribbed with solid white microbe colonization!! And such a sweet smell, these microbes are what make extremely fertile soil smell so good and I believe are tied to the expression of the plant and can unlock different terps and cannabinoids that can't be reached without their presence.

any questions , problems , just ask ....
Ok things are going really really well so far I think, but I did just have an issue, after the last watering I just did which was a full feed after a Gaia flush, the tops of one of my girls got clawed leaves. She was looking a little hungry, not standing up like it should before. I read in the NFTG bible that clawing can just be a sign of needing calcium? Like maybe I should do a Herc flush next watering for this one? Thoughts? Overall she looks ok, good flower development and color, just the clawing...

Oh I should add, the slurry 350, 6.4...

What was your feed ppm & ph before clawing? That slurry is good, she is eating and prolly wants a little more so don't flush and ease off any microbe application.....don't go crazy and cook her but get a couple solid feeds at 6.6-6.8 ph range to get that cal phos to go in, 6.4 and lower is where your getting more limestone calcium available, while the mid to upper 6's is where the Herc really gets movin!! May not even need to bump up nutrients, could just be ph thing....some varieties can be finicky this way. Then if this seemed to do the trick, your primed for nice tea bath. Maybe cut BK in half too if your using in feed, it will allow some more food to be available to the soil life, and return the microbes will assist in buffering your media back up into the upper 6's. Use this as a guideline but get a good slurry b4 that tea day to really nail down Your next move.
