What up everybody hope ya holiday was great! Im ROOTBOUND!! 6 weeks in veg 3 gallon pot. Roots poking out of the bottom. Transplanting to 7 gallon smart pots. Problem is i have a few plants i cant tell sex and dont want to waste the soil on. Is it ok to flip them with the rest and transplant them if they turn out ok? I have a real even canopy and dont want to mess that up. Kind of a catch 22. Will it harm them if i keep them rootbound for another week or so till these last couple show threw? Just shootin for some ideas here. Other then that the plants look killer. Slurries staying around 250. Im full strength late veg roman i haven't flushed one time and only gave a tea one time. Feeding a lil less then 1/4 gallon every other day. Any more then that it takes a few days for pots to dry out. Trying to build soil up for flip. I feed slf every feed and photo p once a week with my feed. Foliar 3x a week with alternative recipes. Posiden and dr.growth once a week. And a gaia, athenas and aphrodites once a week to try to keep them nice and green and feed the microbes. Photo p in all foliars even tho it smells like liquid asshole.
they should show pretty fast after flip. you could remove the fabric pot on the unknowns when you transplant the others, they are rootbound so the ball will stay together, then just put them in a plastic bag or something. then if they are females you can easily drop in 7 gals without any stress.

its fine to flip with the rest , will be behind of the others thats all .... dude ! you are doing a lot of foliar !!! not bad , but damn ...lol.... keep them root bound will hurt , mite show some odd thinks like deficiency , low ppms ???? if slurries are staying at 250 cause the roots are sucking it all up there no soil to hold a higher # .... had this talk with Scott and irie .. people that have low ppms and can't get the #s up could be the plant out grew the pot... Photo plus I use as a root drench on tea days ....
Yup sounds about right man. Ya im goin hard on foliars but withe low slurries im trying to keep them fed and happy at all costs lol. So far so good.

I was doing similar, not near as many foliars but definitely doing some supplemental foliars to fight low ppms, it helped but was a bandaid, being Rootbound was a constant struggle of low ppms...once settled into bigger pots and with a simple top dress they are all praying before the lights even come on!! Will check slurry before next feed to verify numbers even though the top growth is telling me their on point, Bubba likes to call these preventative slurries, and they are just as important to do as it is when troubleshooting. This slurry will guide my transition feed and will tell me if I need to keep alternating double feeds or just get back to regular feeds....we will see, I'm very pleased so far but it could have all been avoided with a repot at the correct time....got busy, life happens!!

week 3 in flower , no more BK ... foliar up to 3rd week safer 2nd week ....if over done you will get leaf curl and twist ... can start foliar BK in veg just gotta make sure your soil supports it....always want to start at 1/4 strength and work up .... you can also foliar right after a feed day , foliar next morning like an hour before lights on if your not up on your slurries ....
Thanks - ok I stopped with the foliar then... Looking happy so far!

Thanks for the replies the other day. Today the GF, my pooch and I went on a little road trip to the biggest grow shop I have ever seen. Took 120 miles and 3 hours round trip, but I drove home with a trunk full of NFTG #4! It was on sale for $14 a bag is that a good deal? When I was checking out I was telling the guy #4 was the reason for the trip, he said that everyone who tries it and buys it all say it awesome stuff.

I got a few more weeks until I put NFTG into action. My current grow will be getting cut probably next week, then I have to get the electrician in to get more power to my room. Then got to set up the new toys and get back at it.

Thats a great price for #4.......I pay $25 on the east coast and it sells out fast!! So I always buy bags even if I don't need them.....My store is 80 miles round trip so not too bad but I make it worth while when I go.

It said the normal price was $26.95 and on sale for $14, I didn't know if that was just a sales pitch. Yea this place was something else, they had everything, for decent prices a hell of a lot better than my local grow shop thats a few blocks away from me. I grabbed some basic supplies while there, got 1 gal. plastic pots for .60 cents. At my local a measuring syringe is almost $5, there they were $1 so I grabbed a hand full. I can see myself making this trip 4 times a year.

Hell yea man i literally just did the same thing filled the trunk with some #4. Cost $20 a bag and takes me 6 hours round trip. Well worth it tho. Id deff suggest slurrying it before first use. Anything lower then 200 ppm i would start feeding soon as your seedling has 3-4 nodes. I waited a little too long to feed and been battling low slurries ever since. Shits awesome i have never had such bushy green vigorous plants before.

Doing transplants soon as my pots dry up a lil. Everything has shown sex. Lost some of my favorites like this fat piece of shit. I think its a little root bound haha. My wife kicked all my bottles off the counter went and got a tote from walmart. This is now my favorite box i own.

Another question if I may? I know there is perlite already in #4, is it recommended to add more? And if so how much?

Perlite or pumice can be added to #4, I don't think its necessary but 5% is prolly all you need. If you can get nectar #8 soil its already 50/50 coco and peat / perlite & pumice. The only time I would put more aeration in #4 is if I'm adding castings or compost, which I don't usually add until recycling used soil after a run. Nectar #4 is perfect right out of the bag!! I do add biochar though with a sprinkle of bokashi & malted barley!!
