I made a chiller out of a free water cooler I got from a place I worked. Fountain pump in the rez circulating the nute mix through 3/8 tubing coiled in the chiller tank of the cooler. Had the tubing already so it cost me $14 for a little pond pump. Filled the tank on the cooler with antifreeze as it froze the water I started with.Chiller1.jpg

Used a glue gun to cover the pump with mosquito screen to keep the roots out in my DWC tub.

Here it is at work.

Chiller3.jpg

Can do two tubs and still have reserve to do more.

ISo this is my quick fix just set it up picture quality not the best .will check on rez tomorrow see if it has helped lower the temperature only problem I may have now could be room temperature since I'm teeing of from my intake fan but I'm not to worried at the minute plants look fine (i think) checked cubes tape root has made it out the bottom of the cubes and is hitting the spreader mat.. My girls will be a week old on monday (from germ).
Happy days .thanks again peeps :peace:

Do your windows look like that from the street?

I like the setup you got there and drew up a design for what I called a gutter grow to set pots in gutters with nutes flowing down to water them or net pots that get started in DWC to get enough roots to lay in the flowing nutes. I think it would work great for autoflowers. I'll post the drawing so it's easier to visualize.

Just an idea that doesn't really fit into my space.

You may need to cut down on some wattage until you get your temps figured out... those res temps can cause a lot of problems... is there a way to hang your filter higher so it draws more hot air... also reflectors direct heat right at your plants.. have you ever seen a bare bulb grow? Just throwin out options...

That's a nice looking system VERY similar to my NFT same concept.

No my window has new blinds up and looks like a normal window

Temperature in system since putting ducting in has dropped to 20° which is a lot better and also The temperature in the room is sitting at 24°
Room temp 24°(75f)
Minimum 17° (62.6f)
Max 25° (77f)

Overall I'm pleased with that will be looking at trying to raise carbon filter and lowering rez a little bit more.

Those temps are good compared to where they were...sounds like you've got a handle on it...
I've had rez temp issues and root rot was the end result..

That's my main worry but if I need to i can put my fan on the second setting which is stronger but quite noisey And not ideal so hopefully I can lower rez temp without upping fan speed.. My only other issue is with my carbon filter/fan when its on and the room door is closed it makes a loud noise (not the fan amd filter) like a whistling sound similar to wind so i think i may have to drill some holes in bottom ov my door and put like a grill across so it allows more air in as I think that the room is that air tight its causing the whistling noise again not ideal for neighbours.

Neighbors can be a pain in the ass... I have 13 acres so mine aren't too close... and I'm legal..
Even tho it's legal it still has a stigma attached... not really socially acceptable.. yet!
Hope you get that annoying whistle solved...

I have the same issue with not enough holes to let air in too RedEyed. Got some grills at the local farm supply that are about 4" x 16" and about $5 each. They got mosquito netting on the back and I put a layer of those anti-static wipes on that then screwed them on holes I cut in a panel I made to enclose the space under the stairs in my basement where the sump is. Bugs breeding in there so now they can't get into the grow room. I cut the holes with a jig saw so they custom fit the grills and allow max air flow. With one of those each side of your door it won't look odd at all.

SumpCover01.jpg

Used that thick, clear tablecloth plastic to make a window so I can easily check the sump without taking out the 16 screws that hold that panel on with weather stripping all around it to get a good seal. Since that pic was taken I put two more grills on that panel and now need to drill some holes in the risers of the steps to let more air get under the steps to those grills.

Meant to mention that you can put a speed controller on your exhaust fan to make it run quieter and still move a lot of air. You can buy a cheap one for around $30 or make your own from a ceiling fan controller. Not a dimmer for lights tho. The ceiling fan controllers are about $15 and then you need the wall box to mount it in and power cords on each end. Other than the controller I have all the other stuff lying around the shop so you're probably better off just buying one.

Nice strains! I bought a gram of GSC from a dispensary in BC when I was out there in August. Didn't like it at first but after a couple more tries really enjoyed it. Should have took the $30 deal for 4 grams I was offered. :wall:

I have a cross of LSD and Blueberry both from Barney's Farms about 6 years ago. Wonder if it's the same LSD you have. Great cross that I'm just about to plant 30 or 40 beans of.

Your plants are still chugging along and looking a little better now. Another week or so should tell.
