Next Generation "Dynamite"......Grapefruit X Grapefruit

No need to bore you with a 3+ month grow report..........but here's the essentials.

1. Heavy yielder
2. Well done in less than 9 weeks
3. Easy to grow and keep healthy

But, there is a lot of variety within the strain, it's not as potent as it's 1/2 sister (Grape God) and is not overly tasty or smelly. If you are looking for a Grapefruit strain, stick with Grape God.

Doing last two grape god out of a 3+ year run. Super awesome flavor, only downside was she would mold easy. Huge frosty nuggets of grape tasting goodness.
Cheers.

I've never seen any grape smell or taste in the Grape God's I've done. The grape stands for grapefruit, not grape. And there's nothing huge about the buds.........the Godbud makes the plants much smaller then the Dynamite plants. So, I'm wondering what you actually grew?

You're pretty condescending there dude. Like I don't know my stuff. I've ran this strain for almost 4 years now guy. Just wait around here another month, I'll show you what "nothing huge" looks like. As far as flavor goes, it is what it is, yours smell like grapefruit, mine like grapes no two phenos are the same buddy. If your keeper pheno flowers out weak this is on you for keeping a weak pheno.

I know exactly what the grape stands for , grape fruit x godbud. And Yes, I actually grew Grape God. Feminized ceed bought from attitude in the original pack and this is the second batch I've ran the first was from greenlife ceeds and were regular beans and none of those had the same flavor.

Sorry if you're offended. Are you vegging yours for long periods????? Some people reports huge plants but only after a long veg period. I only veg for 30 days, and the plants stay rather short limiting the size of the colas......

Hard not to be offended with a comment like above. You do know you didn't get the only pheno of g.god?

Two week veg then aero for the big show, but even rockwool and dwc never more than 30. No soil. One huge cola typically in between 1 and 1-1/2 oz per cola then usually four or five side tops worth about another 1-1/2.

I have also had a grapefruit tasting pheno or two but this one is much more fermented sour grapes, no citrusy taste anywhere near the actual fruit grapefruit. The other phenos were random in overall yield, some were light yielders and some were heavier. The keeper was the heaviest and tastiest but not the most potent. We'll get pics of her when she is done in bout 4 weeks.

You're a bit overly sensitive IMO......I tried to apologize.

Here's my final review from my Grape God posting:

  • I'm going to wrap up my comments tonight regarding my Grape God grow. Everything is done, dried and either gone to friends or curing in some mason jars.

A quick review: 22 plants under 2200 watts, in 4 gallon pots with pro-mix and Botanicare fertilizer products. I vegged for 30 days and flowered for 63 days. They are easy to grow, stay short and easy to keep healthy. I never had to go above 1200 ppm in the grow, and a pH around 6.3-6.4 was maintained. I had an overdose issue with silica during the grow, and a group of plants showed some ill effects on some leaves. I flushed and everything improved immediately.

I cut everything in one day and ended up with 42 oz , just short of 2 oz per plant. I didn't pinch any plants, just let them do their thing as recommended by the breeder. Next time, I would pinch once or twice, and this will increase your bud count. The plants tend to grow with a main thick cola and little else, other then a ring of colas under the main cola. They are nicely dense, and this helped the overall weight in the room. Also, trim the bottom 1/4 of the plant off, as this lower stuff rarely adds up to much and sucks energy and production from the main colas. Also, very uniform plants- very stable.

While growing, there was definite citrus/grapefruit odor although it wasn't bad. After drying, it's a little "richer" now. Hints of citrus and grapefruit remain, but it's more refined and complicated now. The taste is similar, rich and thick as is the smoke. Mine definitely needs more curing time to fully develop. I'd say the high is an 8.5/10 tops. The high is mostly sativa leaning early on in the smoking session- all in the head, eyes and temple. Not long later, after a few more bong hits- it relaxes you up and down the body (indica buzz). It's a nice mix of highs. No anxiousness or anything to negatively report.

It's not the strongest smoke.....above average I'd say. But when you combine the other positives- easy to grow, nice weight, stays short, lower odor, etc.- it's well worth a grow. I already bought and planted Next Generation "Dynamite", the Grapefruit parent of Grape God. All 18 seeds sprouted within 2 days and these babies are already a few inches high. I would not have bought these if I was disappointed with the Grape God in any way.

Lastly, I've heard nothing but positives from my friends....everyone really likes it a lot. Loads of resin, and an enjoyable high with some flavor and smell. Not a keeper per se, but a strain I won't mind doing once in a while.

I'm not overly sensitive, just do not like when someone I was encouraging giving a thumbs up to, in returns basically calls me an idiot and a liar. "I've never had grape....it's named for grape it's grapefruit... nothing huge about it." As though your experience is relevant to mine.

This is the forth year we've ran grape god, we know this strain better than any other strain we've ran because we've never had one run that long before, a real fan favorite.

I would not recommend topping the Grape God, just super crop them I just lightly crush them stems never crushing to hard. If the main stem is cut the plant does not respond well.

PS nice bud, ours looks more like the grape fruit you have up above. Also ours has skinny leaves. The high is alright but more couchlock than anything, people just love it for the flavor.

And when I say huge I mean the head cola, overall the power kush(afghani kush x skunk#1) that runs intermittently always out yields the GG because it has more smaller buds that get super dense and the power kush spawls out using the light more efficiently. Where as the GG just has one huge bud and a few other side branches that need full light to really do much.

Outdoors she really shines. Done right your talking two liter soda pop bottle size colas.

Cheers man, and no hard feelings and just maybe next time give a brother a chance before you call him out like he don't know what strain he's growing.

EDIT: at 4 wks.

I'm the type to admit when I am wrong. I asked some buddies what they thought of the G.god and they all said grapefruit taste. I'm not a fan of the fruit and evidently have no idea what it taste like.

It does bud out well though, just I guess I'm the only one that taste grapey in it.

Cheers and my apologies.

i feel what hes saying. ^ the grapefuit flavor is alot less citrusy/sour than most strains like lemon g or the other like it.

When i first smelled my grape god the flavor was very fruity/musky but didnt make your nose tickle or your eyes water (like some diesels/super lemon hazes do)

Its alot more deep than just plane citrus, due to the skunky musk of mine. More subtle grapefruit flavor, but way more tasty!

Also, SSHZ Nice report!!! i was lookin for the GG grow journal to show RDR and came across this.

peep the hog if you havent in a while

Apologies aren't necessary...........it's all fine. I'm over 3 weeks into veg on my next room of Grape God.....some pics are included. People keep raving about this strain and I'm back into it for a few crops I guess. It's a very relaxing strain, and calms me in the evenings and helps me sleep well. It's quite potent when taken long enough in flowering and the only down sides are it's a slow to grow in veg and there are a number of pheno's- check out the closeups and it's tendency to mold up in flowering and drying. The citrus tastes and smells are more evident after a good cure but you're right, it's dense and yields well. I'll post more as I get into flowering. I took your advice and didn't top. Thanks!

Hey Bud......what's happening buddy. I'll check out the Hog link...it's been a week or two. Find my detailed grow if you want to see it from start to finish. I just cut and pasted my final comments for "thenotso" so he could review them. Stay safe guys........I'll pop in regularly.

Sorry guys, I'm having major camera issues. Can't get the dam digital POS out of certain modes. But here's one that came out ok. More to follow, I promise. Here's also another picture of SickMed's Williams Wonder...a strain from SSSC from the 1970's that is getting rave reviews. Look at these BEAUTIES!!!IMGP0014.jpgIMGP0010.jpg

That was the only issues with the GG myself, was the mold and slow veg. It is a fan favorite but I had to move on. You guys enjoy that GG, cheers.

I got my camera issues straightened out, I think.

Pic #1 the more sativa leaning pheno, leaning towards the God Bud I think
Pic #2 the more indica leaning pheno, leaning towards the Grapefruit
Pic #3 a better pic of the room, 25 plants right now I think at day 24 in veg
Pic #4 Williams Wonder......very uniform, a great grower so far, pinched at the top yesterday
Pic #5 British Columbia Seeds N.L. #5.........I grew these for 2 years back in the 90's. It was very good back then.
