newbie question who has done some research.

ive been readibg thru boards and have a few questions. i am going to be growing in a 10'lx6'wx8'h room. i was wondering if there are any flaws in my design. i have all walls and ceiling painted white. i havs a diy light setup that includes 1 400w hps in center with a combination of a 75w hid and 150w hps both located on each side. so a total of 2 175w hid and 2 150w hps and 400w hps. i have 2 8" in line fans for exhaust and 2 for intake. my grow medium is soil at moment but would love to switch to hydro system in future. i am starting out with clines from a friend but will be germinating seeds to get my own mother. input is greatly appreciated as i dont want to burn my babies up or my house down. happy growing.

That amount of light will barely handle half that room size.

Tents will run you damn near as much as DIYing with a wood frame + insulating foam boards (double duty as walls plus temp control- which is what I did.

Ya you should have at least 2 600s on that space or 3 400s but best just a that space would be 3 600s or 2 1000s. Also is your floor covered?

The bud room described should have at least 2kw of hps to a maximum of 4.8kw's hps.
All of my moms are clones, not seedlings.

Hiya weedies443, I think you will be Fine with that(depending on How Many Ladies) you could always just use the Main 400w Hps and maybe build a couple of Large Frames and Cover with Mylar then place either sides(or all four) to bring Reflected Light closer(10'L) I've got 9 Ladies under a 600w Hps in a GR that is about 9'L x 8'W x 8'H and the walls/ceiling painted Matt-White...They seem Happy...time will tell..

I do have bulb in a Cool-Tube very close to ladies(though not too close) and I've also got em sat in a 3 x 3 Grid in about a 6' Square...
was planing on adding My 250Hps but needed it for Veg GR for a bit longer...after this Harvest will be switching to Smaller Grows & LED.

EDIT: Though like kmog33 says more is better, and I think the sweet spot is 600w Hps(Lumens per $$$ used)

I have all together bulb wise 4 -175, 4 - 150 and 2 - 400 in my possession and from input and research the hps and mh are good in theirs own way for garden. in response the floor is covered in white plastic in case of spills. The entire room will not be used for grow from some research of needing to be able to take care of properly and should start small before going bigger. I'm thinking to try my clones out and see if can actually succeed before trying to keep mother and all her babies. Stealth and smell are the upmost importance due to being in heart of city. I'm doing homework on DIY carbon filter for that part if there are any suggestions. I'm thinking get 6 hopefully get4-5 to survive if not all.

with the lights you have, i'd consider a single large dwc plant in a 5g bucket.... 8-16oz easy....

White paint is good, dont spend mony on mylar, beter by a good reflector hood or beter 2 more 400hps lamps.

You can buy a good carbon filter for 50 usd (for youre setup)), why would you conssider DIY? Have in mind that a 8" in line gets pretty loud, if not autenated.In my opinion you only need one 8" for intake and one for out. 4 will get weary loud, and will be excessive.

I think you should ditch the extra fans and use the energy you would have spent on extra lights
