Hello everyone! First id like to say thanks for everyone out their. The growing community looks to be very strong. I have already learned a great deal.. Now my question. I'm 15 days from sprout, in a 5 inch pot. Fox farm soil wit ro water. Been watering every other day. Using 2 bulb t5ho setup within 4 inches from plant. Also have. Few cfls on the side. My strain is power flower fem. my baby looks healthy but the true leaves are pointing straight up and it's seems to be growing slow. Can someone please look at my pic and tell me what they think. Overall health, height, ECt. Also, if I should start using cal mag beings I'm using ro water.. My cotyledons turned yellow yesterday but come to realize that's pretty normal. Thanks a lot everyone!

ff is hot for babies, and that's pretty much why it's reaching for the sky. try to run as much water through as you can without drowning it. other than that, looks ok, it'll level out.

If i had to guess, the plant is very happy with the amount of light, and is only growing slower because its not having to stretch much for light. So it will grow more bushy, and less tall.

Thanks for the quick reply! I just water today, usually water every other day, should I wait until next watering. Or would doing it tomorrow affect anything being it's not a watering day?

you can wait, just run a good bit through, let it leach out some of the nitrogen. looks like it'll work out, but the stunting is from having too much too soon.

That's good to know! I initially thought it could be the lights but I'm pretty confident with my set up :) thanks for the advice!

Pics look pretty healthy, prolly too much nutes thats stunting growth. Starting them out with FF soil like catman said was probably not a good idea, but they should recover, like he said, flush as much as you can without over doing it.

*COULD* take the plant out and rinse all the soil off of its roots, and give it some different soil. That is all up to you, could improve recovery time. I dont think id risk it though, cause they will probably recover fine.

My plants went like that because of the nutes that were already in the soil, the leaves won't change in color but your plant will get used to it and grow fast quite soon which means the first couple of leaves will be the color they are now and the rest will be healthy.

The t5 ho is a two bulb, 24 inches. 6400k bulbs, 110 total watts. The cfls to the side are 2 75 watt full spectrum bulbs, and 2 2700k 13 watt. I have them split so each outlet has a full spectrum and a 2700. V-shaped

Watering to often, way too often.

I was worrying about that. I water every other day, and when I do water, the top soil is ways very dry, I've been sticking my finger and inch down too and that also feels pretty dry. Should I switch to every 2 days? Thanks for you input!

Yeah i missed that your watering ever other day, water when needed. Feel the soil. As you learn, you will be able to communicate with your plants. your plants will be able to talk to you lol i know it sound weird, but they will tell you when they need something. I let my plants be until they start to droop, telling me they need water.

When they are short on water, the roots will search for water. Just like when the plant doesnt have enough light, they will stretch to find light. But too little water will do damage, as you probably already know.

Agreed, too much water. Learning a lot myself just reading these threads and getting ready to start my first grow. Been working if Ag and nurseries for about 15 years and nothing really needs that much agua at such a young age. Guess by what the others have said fox farm is too aggressive so after flushing maybe hold off on watering a bit. I can always tell by the weight of my pots.

It could be the right amount of water. If it all seems dry.
