Good stuff goat, if they're clear then keep her going. Those sample buds you cut of actually look really good! Awesome job for a first grow.
Let us know how she smokes when you try it. Its hard to say what shel yeild but it will loose quite alot of weight when its being dried because of all the water inside etc.
Its always hard to tell with pictures :) That nug on the top looks quite heavy! Weigh those little buds when theyre wet and then weigh them when theyre dry and that could give you a rough estimate of the weight loss during drying.

Awesome sounds like youve got some great seeds! Cant wait to see your next lot. When you do your next grow you should top your plant so you end up with a shorter bushier plant and two main cola heads instead of one. Its easy and worth it if you wanna keep them shorter and nice. I agree most people seem to have there own way of doing things but usually end up with the same results.

Defiantly stop feeding her now, in the last 1 - 2 weeks I think you stop feeding her and just give them water so go ahead and give her plain water.
Bet you cant wait to smoke some. You've done great and your plant looks stella!

I trim at harvest. Then hang branches from clothes pins on hangers. In your climate it will dry on the outside really quick. There is as many ways of harvesting as there are growers. Finding what works for your situation is the key. A grower that moves to a different climate will need to change his ways. I think you've got the gist of it.

Thanks for all the information.
Now I have a new question, once you hear this you will think I have tipped over the edge!!!!!

1st off, I have allways been one of those people who not only needs to know that something works,
but why? Which brings up my question, What happens to the Trichomes when you dry the plant?
Do they just dry up and dissapear or do they explode and spread their contents all over the Bud?
The reason I ask this is when I looked at the buds under the microscope tonight, it looks as though there
are little strings of silver/white stuff that I didn't see before. What is that? kind of looks like the strings?
in a spider webb!
I had to take extra Oxy today, maybe that oxy is doing the talking!

Anyway I also weighed the stem with 3 small buds again tonight, Original weight was 1.8 grams,
tonight it weighs 1.5 grams, it lost lost .3 grams in 2 days, which works out to about 17/18% weight loss
in 2 days from drying. I am going to weigh it every day, for 6 days total and I think they will be dry
enough to sample, I also got me a nice glass pipe to try it out with.
If the word CRAZY/ off his rocker/ is comming up in your minds while you read this, I will understand.
Don't desert me know, I think I really need Help, maybe more ways the just the MJ.

If you read all this, thanks/thanks/thanks,

I recently harvested my first successful plant, from seed to jar. I totally understand the "first kid" thing. I would come home from work and run to my cabinet before even saying hello to my wife.

I've learned you can never learn too much. I did 4 months of research before I started my first indoor grow. And I havent stopped learning

I don't see any "spider webs" ( which would actually be spider mite webs ) in your photos ( although, as you already know, your photos aren't the best ) so maybe it's the Oxy, maybe not. However, enjoy toking up your first baby and keep growing young man !!!!!

buds are looking awesome. a rule of thumb for weighing them when you harvest 4/5ths of the weight is water. my 5oz harvest ended up being 34 grans. oh also look into Boveda Humidity packs. They take the guess work out of curing. its a 2way humidity controller that keeps RH at or close too 62 percent.

just chop, fry for a couple days then toss em right in the jar with a couple of those amd they willl cure right up. I achieved full flavor and smokeability less than 2 weeks after I cut the plant

eBay has then free shipping 15 USD for 12

In reference to your trichome question, the trichomes pretty much stay they unless they are knocked off. the trichomes is what fills the keef catcher in your grinder. Depending on the strain, you will notice "sugar leaves" or trichome encrudted leaves. when you trim the buds you can boil those leaves with butter and water and make some awesome edibles [see Canna-butter] Look at some of the pictures I uploaded of my Crirical Jack plant I thought it snowed in my cabinet. The white webs you see is the THC becoming phsychoactive. when they fill out a milky white its the highest potency. if you let them turn amber some of the THC has degraded and CBDs aqre taking over therefore giving you a couchlock sedative-like high. Harvest at different times and see what best suits your 'taste'.

I like to harvest when most of the trichomes are white, some are still clear, and almost none are amber. To me it gives me the most energy.

But also your talking about pain management. strains higher in CBDs are usually more efficient at treating some ailments than THC. so maybe let a few of those trichomes turn amber and see if it treats your symptoms better tthan milky white trichomes [there will be a noticeable difference]

Just checked out the Boveda Humidity paks on ebay. They have them from 62% to 75%. You think the 62% are the best to put in the jars? This is the first I had heard about this, thanks a Bunch!
If I order now I might get them before I chop.
I am going to have to chop pretty soon as I just checked and a few of the Trchomes are getting a little Milky, not so clear>

I have no idea what the strain is, it was an orphan seed given to me and the guy I got it from knew less than me??? If that's possible!
Thanks for the info on the Trichomes, I was hoping it wasn't spider mites, couldn't see any!
I will definatly keep all the trimmings, after I dry her for a couple days, to make some butter.
I am looking for the best pain relief I can get so I will wait at least untill the majority are milky white.

I am pretty sure I am getting very close to knocking my baby down, maybe this weekend!!

The temp in my grow tent, at least that's what I call it, is staying at about 82/83 and the humidity at 45/50%, it
is about 105/110 with 10% humidity here in the desert this time of year untill the rains start.
but I have a swamp(evaporative) cooler running in my shop where the tent is, we are in our Monsoon season here in Southern Az so the humidity is much higher with the cooler running than normal. I also have a 6" air filter in the tent to keep the odors down some, when I don't have the air filter running it smells pretty skunky!

What kind of a window do I have untill I have to chop her? I would like to wait untill I get the Boveda paks if possible to put in the jars, I think about two 1 quart jars should hold everthing I will get!!!

1 more question, why do they call the little leaves close to the bud, Sugar leaves?
Actually another question, do I need a grinder if I am going to be using a Pipe? I am not really stupid,
I just ask what could be considered stupid questions!! Cut me some slack, this is my 1st pot rodeo.

Thanks to alllllllll of you for taking the time to help the Old Goat, you just don't know how Much I appreciate
all of you!!! Someday I will tell all of you why Goat is my nickname.

I would never have made it to this point without you.Now it looks as though I will have some meds pretty soon.

go with the 62. From aqll my research Ive gathered that 55 percent humidity is the most common used. I prefer mine a tad more moist so it was perfect for me.
i got them on the east coast about 7 days after I ordered.

as per your window of chop. thats a personal judgement call. if you wait till almost all of the trichomes are milky white then your fine. or you can wait till there a bit amber for a more medicinal effect.

Sugar leaves are called such because they lok like litle sugar granules on the leaves. They have a technical plant name but im unsure

as per your grinder question that a mtter of public opinion. i love min because it breaks up the nugget and allows an even burn.
but on the contrary some people swear by using scisors or heir bare hands to break it up. experiment.
