Newbie Medical Grower's First Chronic Grow!!!!

Hey there!!!! I am bluefossil and I just recently obtained my medical marijuana licence here in michigan. I have grown from bag seed a couple times in the past, but those grows weren't that great. Just something small in a closet.

This time I wanted to do things right. What I had on hand.

1 - 400 watt digital ballast with hps bulb and mh bulb
4 - CFLs
1 - Technaflora's Recipe for Success starter kit which includes the following. B.C Bloom, B.C Boost, B.C Grow, Thrive Alive B-1 Red, Thrive Alive B-1 Green, Awesome Blossoms, Rootech Cloning Gel, MagiCal, SugarDaddy, ROOT 66

So I found a deal on craigslist a week ago, a guy offering 4 week old clones for 25 bucks a piece. I decided to go ahead and pick up 4 of them.

1- White Widow
1- Iranian G-13
1 - Burmese Kush
1 - Afghan Kush

I recieved the plants saturday of last week. I didn't have a room built when i first received them so I put them in the corner of my room with a blanket stapled up to block the light so I could sleep. During the past week and a half I managed to build my room. The room is 11x7 with a nice sized work bench. There was a window in the room so I decided to stable a blanket up to keep light from leaking out of the house.

Right nown I don't have much for ventilation. I have the door open with a fan blowing cool air from the bedroom in. This keep my temps around 70-77 degrees f with humidity going from 25% - 50%. I do have a new 650 CFM inline blower coming from ebay with a controller. I also plan on building a carbon scrubber soon as it already stinks in my house.

My feeding schedule is feed water feed water. After I first got the plants they started to look a bit sickly. One problem I foudn were spider mites. :o I have fox farm's don't bug me and that seems to have done the trick. I do have a hot shot no pest strip that I will puit in there if needed, but I would rather not becuase I will not be able to sleep in my room for a bit while it is in there. I think the other problem is they guy I got them from was feeding too many nutes which caused a nutrient lockout. I have flushed them and treated with a foliar application and they are all starting to look real good.

I have a friend that is gonne come show me how to take clones and how to prune correctly for flowering next week. Once he comes they are going into flower. Right now I have the light on 18 on 6 off as I need a dark period to spray for mites and the foliar feeding that I do once a week. But to me it appears that all of the plants are already starting to flower. I see pistils forming at the nodes. So I hope things will be ok to take clones next week.

Please look below for some picks. If you have any comments or questions please feel free to let them loose.

Alright I thought I would update this grow log. The plants have really started to take off since that last time I posted. They are all looking a lot more healthy now except for the fact that I hurt my white widow plant pretty badly today.

So first I decided that I would need a mother/clone area so I went ahead and got some panda film and made 2 cabinets. I took part of my workbench and made a cabinet on top and on bottom. Right now clones can't stay in there because it gets way too hot. so I need to wait until I can afford another fan to ventilate the area.

Then a few days ago my friend stopped by and we took some clones. So now those are sitting in my cloner tray waiting for roots to develop. The night we took the clones was the first night my plants had darkness. So now they are in flower stage.

One problem I was having was the fact that a couple of my plants were taller than the rest. So they were away from the light not getting the light that they need. So my friend suggested to build a screen over top, and that is what I did today. I know that you are supposed to put the plants in the screen earlier, but this will have to work this time. I am more worried about getting my setup ready to go for the next grow.

I also installed my inline fan, but it is not running. Still waiting on some ventilation supplies that will be here tomorrow or the day after. So i am still running with just an oscillating fan sitting in the door.

Check out the pics below and comment if you wish.
