Hi all.. my state recently legalized it so I figured I'd finally give it a shot. Anyone is welcome to post advice/etc. as I do have some questions (I'm unsure how high to hang lights / or do par watt calculations)

  1. Area: 4x4x6.5'~ or so
  2. Lights: 600w max, (3) Meanwell HLG-185H-C1400B (12) Cree CXB3590 (12) Angelina Reflectors (timber framework)
  3. Medium: FoxFarm Ocean Forest Soil
  4. Nutrients: FoxFarm (not using until a month or so in)
  5. Strains: All from seed; (3) Afghan Kush [world of seeds] (3) Northern Lights #5 x Haze (sensi seeds)
  6. Light Schedule: 18/6 from seedling until veg is done, then 12/12

DAY 7
  • Lowered the light height by 6" on day 6.
  • Set up the ventilation to go out of the window and sealed that, as opposed to just venting out into the room and opening a window (:P was hoping that would be good enough, but once I tried to add humidity I found out that you definitely gotta vent out, plus by the time I turned the LED intensity up, I beat the heat would've required me to vent outdoors anyway). Either way, very very happy with the new setup.
  • Only flaw remaining: I have no easy way to reach into the tent and adjust the height of the framework because the tent is up against the wall in some corners, so I can't enter the tent thru its corners to reach hard-to-reach light straps in the corners.

Light Height: 20" (Lowered by 6")
Low 'F: Forgot to log all the rest, my only day missed so far
High 'F:
Low Hum:
High Hum:
CO2:

Afghan Kush

NL Haze

nice setup,im along for the ride.only thing i would ask is to make sure your babies are getting enough water.they look really dry in all the pics but i know maybe you snapped pics right before your watering.gl

Thank you -- I am trying to keep the rapid rooters moist. The dirt surrounding them is dry though yeah.

You can let the temp go up to the mid 80s and they will grow a bit faster till you go into flower
Yes I need to try to get the temp and humidity up a bit I think, I just hit 90/100 very early on so have been scared off of it a bit but I should just try, thank you!

Looks great, I subbed up. Clean setup!
Thank you very much

Looking good, nice light setup.
Thank you, I wish I had a way to raise/lower it with one button... :) Something to look into

next time you might use less soil at the very start so you can add extra if/when the seedling stretch.
Definitely something I'll do differently next time :)

Could be something very cool, 4 individual electric motors the dynamically raise / lower each light platform, you should make it! :D
I can try..!

I've never used this thing, so I don't know how well it works. I'm also guessing that your Timber frame has 4 hanging points.

It does have 4 hanging points. Thanks for the link, good to know stuff like this does exist.
