Newbie Guide on Big Bud

But hey, being the 1st grow and everything, I'm still on a learning curve right now. I'm sure that shows more than I would want it to I'll wait for these 2 plants to finish as they are...if I get 20 grams from the whole BB plant I'm happy for now Is this doable, given the 1-2 weeks left? Also I see that I have a whole lot of new growth at the bottom....little flowers starting to form everywhere near the main stem, so I'm gonna harvest in a 2-pass, to get a bigger yield. Hopefully. Also, for this grow I used some cheap soil, no perlite or anything else, and also some cheap nutes as well. And I mean really cheap, general gardening stuff. dindn't have anything else available atm. Next time I'm gonna use the BioBizz All-Mix, hope this is good. Also thinking about better nutes, but not sure which to go with, though...I have Advanced Nutrients, BioBizz, General Hydroponics, and Plagron available to me...suggestions? With this new setup, I should end up with bigger buds, correct? Or this isn't nute/soil related? I want to know the reason why the buds didn't grew that much so far, can you help me with that? Thanks.
PS: no air flow really, just an open window nearby and the little fan inside the box. The box isn't airproof though, so air is circulating, just not as it should I'm guessing...or the fan is not powerful enough to lower the heat in there...

Oh and almost forgot: @phear: thanks for reminding me that man...removed today the paper towels as they didn't improve the situation and I completely forgot about bud rot in the first place. Also I dismantled the carbon filter and left the fan alone to continuously push air in there...and it's better really cuz the buds don't smell very pungent..hell, the bubblelicious filled my room with bubblegum flavor lol )

i recommend : as much airflow as possible, as much light as possible,
a good quality nute package i use dutch master advanced grow and flower, then in flower i use rock resonater as potash, bloom roots and bloom seafuel all the way through and get very good results, as in lbs hehe
you dont have to spend a ton on nutes just start off basic and then when your more experienced then you can try things but if u dont have good air and light no nutes are going to perform as optimum.
as for mediums i only use hydroton as a base then 25% perlite and 75% coco that's it!

Thanks for the very helpful info. As I stated before, this is really my 1st grow ever and I didn't know what to expect from the seeds I had and also I didn't have very much gardening experience, just common sense mostly. Now I know I did wrong compromising on fans and a decent grow box, but also made some mistakes during vegging as well, letting the plant grow too big and uneven, because I didn't quite know how to handle it so that it would perform at best in the space I have. Now having a grow on my hands, so to speak, I realised alone what mistakes I made and that's why I'll just finish this grow, what ever the outcome will be (after all, I WILL get some bud 
), and then get decent equipment before attempting another grow. In the meanwhile, I have plenty of time setting my strategy, and looking for the best setup that fits me. I already have a few ideas, but will make a separate thread these days and post the link.
Once more, thanks a bunch and hope to see ya around, still.

Just remember, the sativas almost always have a less dense bud then indicas. And most have a longer budding till harvest time. Take a look at my signature and you can see the difference between sativa and indica dominants. All started the same time under the same lights, but look at the bud difference. All in all, looking good for a first grow. Mine is my first INDOOR grow, always grew outside. It can be a bitch to play Mother Nature. But I will grow indoors in the off season, and continue outside as always. Longer they veg, the better yield! Sub'd up to see how yours finish up.

Ok...but is mine sativa dominant? I mean, looks to me like it, but I didn't see a 100% indica perform so far...and if so, should I expect 8-10 weeks of flower, instead of my initially estimated 6? I will wait until the pistils retract into the bud but it would be nice to know anyway

Just remember, indica dominants have smaller, thicker/wider leaves, and mostly stubby. Sativas have really long leaves, and much taller. I dont think you will ever find 100% sativa or indica anymore. Yours appear to be more sativa dominant, so yes, expect a longer flowering time. Also, try boosting your nutes up a bit, and continue to do so till the leaf tips start to turn yellow, then back off a hair. Wait about 2 weeks and then boost some more.

Pics update! With the whole "family"
The BB clone is doing great, I didn't veg it but threw it into flower a few days after it was moved into the soil. It grew 2 nodes, stretched a bit and it's flowering now. This clone was just an experiment for now, I wanted to test out more than just LST alone, to see if a perpetual grow would be possible. I'll keep this till it's done though, what's there to lose right?
Now, the bubblelicious...some might argue I like to grow tall plants, well I didn't really plan on it but if this is how it turned out then I'll just adapt
And at last, the "big bad wolf" lol. New growth seems to have been slowing, but it's still there...pistils look to me like around 60-70% amber; I tried taking a picture with a "device" I built from my phone & a magnifying glass, but seems like the level of detail didn't increase that much...it's hard to see the bud from the fan leafs in the overview pictures. Anyway, the buds continue to increase their size; this morning I had to make some sort of little hooks to keep the branches "tied" to one another, the top weight increased dramatically and the branches started to lean to the sides. Hope they won't crack at some point... I also increased the fert concentration. It said on the bottle use half a bottle lid for 3 liters and I was using about 2/3 of that for 2 liters, now I increased the dosage to half a lid for the same 2 liters. We'll see how it goes. Should take it no problem, from what I've seen regarding this strain. Also watered the bubblelicious with it, hope it won't be too strong for it, that's why I just fed it with half the solution I regularly use to water it well. It's not the first time it's fed, so it *shouldn't* have any problem.
But man, this is looking delicious...in fact, I will cut 1 or 2 buds later this week and fast dry them to see how potent they are. Will post results, need to find a way to fast dry it first. In the meanwhile, enjoy the pics and let me know what you think, of course, if you see something I might have missed, please don't hesitate to share.

The big bud also started to kind of stink...the little carbon bag I made makes a little difference, the smell is not spreading anymore. I have 2 bags of active carbon available, if I make some "bags" out of sheet and fill them with carbon, will it be enough hanging a couple of those bags in there or do I need to put a fan on them to make them work/aka neutralize the smell?
later edit: made myself a nice 1 kilo sack full of carbon and tossed it in, around the top of the box. Works wonders apparently, thank god for low humidity now huh? It's not powerful enough to kill all the smell, but at least it doesn't smell anymore unless I open the box door. Which is all I could ask for, but I now hope it won't get worse over the next couple of days. Will look into getting an ionizer tomorrow.

Ok cool, stabilized the smell for now, that carbon sack really does help alot. I left earlier the house, left all doors open inside, and all windows closed, just to make a test, and about 3 hours later when I returned only a subtle smell of skunk could be felt only into the room holding the plants, so hopefully I'm out of the radar for now. Given the fact that I keep my room window open about 16 hrs a day makes venting a breeze.
I also dried a small bud in the oven for about 10 minutes or so, and made half a blunt out of it, and it set me back a while...not very much, just a half hour buzz. Of course, not being dried and cured properly probably cut 50% of the flavor and potency, but I definitely look forward to harvesting her. Will leave her as long as she needs though, I can feel the outcome will be more than rewarding. A couple more weeks of bag weed won't make that much of a difference really, given the fact that I've only smoked bag weed for the last 4 yrs or so. Won't do that anymore from now on, that's for sure.
Will be updating with pics by the end of the week or beginning of the next, as there's not really much extra info to share for now. And it looks like the increase in the fert dosage had no negative effect, so kudos to that. And many thanks yet again to zombie and the rest of you guys who jumped in to help. Made a n00b's path easier than you think. Hope others will find this info helpful.

always good to try new things and keep reading as much as you can and try and take as much in as possible and just keep looking at the plants as at the end of the day they will tell you what they want and understanding the early signs is the most important part!

Thanks man, check your pm. I'm currently picking soils and nutes for the next grow so I could really use some advice. Did some personal research myself, results are in that topic. (https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/434607-help-choosing-soil-nutes.html)
You nailed that down perfectly: try to take as much in as possible and just watch them once in a while. I feel the same. I'm also combining that with my super ability to make a logical and personal assessment in order to decide what would work and what not. I've seen some people around here turn they're plants to shit, and for most of the time, for idiotic reasons (not thinking for a change) or because they blindly follow even the most obvious path to BS. I may get a lower yield this time, sure, but it will be nice quality bud and I will feel alot of satisfaction because I grew it; but then again I will perform even better with the next grow, and the next one, and the next. Good is never perfect
And as I'm sure others before me have said, patience IS everything when growing this beautiful plant.

Thanks. The strain is Big Bud, although I'm not quite sure which breeder (suspecting BC). Anyway, it should take around 7-9 weeks from the specs I read, but I can only hope for that.

As an update: just found myself a great nice deal...about $30 for a complete Philips Son-T Plus HPS kit (250W version), while the same kit in a big store would have cost at least 8 times that. Why? Dunno, thing is, the whole budget I planned for all the equipment I should need just came down by half and then some.
The CFLs really don't cut it, as I see right now. The amount of work put into maintenance it's not worth it compared to the total yield. The bubblelicious is growing hairs pretty slow (2 weeks since started showing them and it still has a loong way to go) so it might not yield that great either...we'll see if I will be able to mount this HPS when it arrives.
Just wanted to ask this: the amount of light only counts for yield, or should I also expect a longer flowering time? Thanks.
