Newbie Cloning Question: Keep the cubes moist?

Hi,

I just took some clones for the first time ever. I made nice cuttings, trimmed them, dipped them into rooting gel, then into moistened coco coir rooting cubes. They're in a dome-covered tray and so far, they look good.

Quickly ... do I need to keep the cubes moist? I'm thinking of dipping them into a bowl of water to make sure they're nice and wet all the way inside. Is this a good idea?

Thanks!

I use Rockwell cubes and I soak them for a good while before using them so they are wet all the way thru, then when I use them I jerk them down towards the tray I grabbed them from so the exess water comes out the bottom back onto the tray.
Just spray inside dome and I also spray the floor to keep the cubes moist.

Pretty sure if your cubes dry out your clones are toast
