Maybe first of October? I think the average first freeze is mid-late October in my area.

weather and other factors do make a difference, but I would guess you we be in good shape by October

I need to start researching harvest and dry methods. I'd rather not chop the whole plant down.

Youre in Tx so its generally dry BUT who knows you could get a lot of rain come threw. Research bud rot make sure you keep those buds dry. Botrytis can kill a plant in a matter of days. Check your buds on a daily
Notice how thin the leaves are? Sativa dominant for sure. You've already got a lot of orange pistils so you are getting close. When mine are at that stage I wrap my hand around one of the bigger colas every day. I can tell from the stickiness when to harvest. Until you get that familiar with growing I suggest a hand-held 30X 'scope to check the tris. Good luck, BigSteve.

Pic today....moved her out of the heavy rains we r getting but I think she's enjoying the break from the 100+ heat we've had last few days!
