Newbie, advice on my space

Hello Everyone! This is my first post and will be my first grow. I have a fairly green thumb, love to garden and tired of the never ending search for decent smoke!

After reading several books and researching on line this is my plan. I would appreciate any feedback or suggestions as I am getting ready to start ordering my equipment!

I have ordered some quality seeds already and plan to start with the seeds and clone. I plan to grow out the first couple of grows just regular than I'm thinking about going to the screen of green.

Ok, my set-up plan. I found a $50 complete propagation kit, it uses Super Plugs (supposedly the "natural" version of rockwool) has a fluorescent light and a dome.

Than, I plan to transfer to 2 gallon soil filled containers. These will go into my veg cabinet. My hubby is pretty handy and we are planning on buying a standard white coat closet type cabinet at the local DIY store. It is painted white already. Its 4x2x71 inches high. We plan to put a shelf in the middle and separate it into a top and bottom. We debated about the lights here but finally decided on CFL's.

The plan for each shelf is to use 5 85 watt lights per shelf. The lights are 4,200 lumen's each and full spectrum 6500K. We will also do the intake and outtake vents with a carbon filter since its indoors and a oscillating fan for movement.

For the flowering grow, we are going with a 3x3x6 tent. I'm thinking about a 400 HPS Max-89 Grow light system with a 400w Lumatek digital ballast. Again we will do all the intake and outtake vents with carbon filters, fans, temp and rh gauges.

We can't decide if its worth the added expense to add co2 to the grow room? We will have good ventilation and its such a small area, what are the suggestions here?

All light will be adjustable for height, the veg cabinet will run 24 and of course the flower tent will have the 12/12 timer.

What haven't I thought of for the initial set up?

OK, if I were you, I wud invest in a Co2 tank, timer, set up! It will help increase yer plants health over all, and being in a cabinet, it may get good ventilation thru yer design, but on average there is only 300PPM of Co2 in the air, yer cabinet will have closer to 100PPM (if yer lucky), and optimal levels fer plant growth are 1500PPM
Welcome to RIU, and best of luck to ya. We be here to help:bigjoint:

Seriously, veg for 18 is fine? I'm all for saving money on the electric bill and I have read both the 24 hour and the 18/6 but just assumed the more light the better?

Our original thought was to do the co2 but then my hubby read somewhere that someone (lol!) tried it and it didn't increase their yield at all but according the the book the grow bible, it says it can triple your yield. It gets confusing because every book or website has different info and its hard to know what the right thing is!

18 hours is fine! Some ppl are experimenting w/16, but I'm stayin @ 18. No benefit from 24 over 18!
If someone is using a legitimate Co2 system and not getting improved results, they either have a huge air flow issue or they didnt adjust their flowmeter correctly! Co2 is scientifically proven to increase yields from 30-100%
