ive personally never heard of that before, i knew when my plant was under stress, she was only growing one finger fan leaves, but for the middle to be pointing down, no clue sorry dude. hopefully one of the vets around here can help you out. so how much longer you think until harvest? cant wait to see your results dude.

I don't know man, seemed to take them a little while to realize they were flowering. At this pace I'd say another four to six weeks at least, unless things pick up.

I'm going to water them with some dolomite lime soon to neutralize the pH hopefully that will stop them from acting weird and speed up the growth.

But I have confirmed they are both female, so that's all I care about right now. I know I'm at least going to get something regardless of how small.

go females! im sure youll get a decent amount of smoke of them, if its just for personal use then any and every little bit more helps out eh lol. you going to clone them at all to keep a constant grow happening? even though i know its bad to clone during flowering but you could still take one or 2 clippings and pray they survive

yeah I'm going to move out of my place by the end of may, so this was kind of a practice run before I get my next living arrangement next fall.

does anyone know what would cause my younger fan leaves to curl down like they are over-watered, none of the other leaves are doing it. I know i've been under-watering them if anything. I can't get a picture up right now but it's pissing me off. It looks like one leaf set is over watered, and the next leaf set up has different blades pointing out at weird angles. stress?

Sorry about the delay...

So my final two plants are confirmed females so that's sweet. They already have quite a few pistils growing out of the top.

For some reason the highest two leaf sets look very stressed while the rest of the plant looks fine...they look like they're over-watered, but it's just two leaf sets so I'm confused as to what it could be, I included a picture.

I'm thinking it probably has to do with my pH being in the high 7 range, so I added some aluminum sulfate to hopefully bring the pH down to 7 or 6.5. I also started spraying the ladies with this tomato bloom spray that supposed shortens flower and increases yield for plants with a fruit like tomatoes, cucumbers and such, so I figured it would probably work with ganj.

Other than that I'm just waiting for things to start fattening up. Peace. :leaf:

Your light is too high and you are either overwatering, nute burning, or underwatering... hard to tell if that is a droop of dryness or a sunken root system(both will show sad sad fan leaves :( )

but why would it show in only a couple fan leaves rather than the whole plant?
the light is only four to five inches above them, any higher and it will burn them, I use the hand method to check when it is too intense. The stretching is from previous light misuse.

oh i see.. well its good u got ur light fixed now cuz it looks like those babies stretched faaaaaar lol...

umm u ask "why would it show in only a couple fan leaves rather than the whole plant?"

i can't give u a definite answer but i believe its because whatever u are doing wrong hasnt escalated to a level where it is going to kill your entire plant... i had a mystery ailment with 1 of my plants too where it was growing stunted leaves... can i tell u why? nope not 100%... but what I did to cure my plant not growing properly was flush it with PH blanaced water then start my nute regimen all over again... make sure when u water u get like 20% run off and thats IT.. let it dry up after a day or two before u water again.. more water/nutes isnt always better. the plant needs time to use that shiet so if u keep watering while the medium is already wet u will damage ur roots undergroud which will then translate into something u will visually see infront of u(necrotic spots, yellowing leaves, droopy leaves etc.) So i can't tell you what you are doing wrong for sure, but I can tell you that you are doing something wrong because marijuana fan leaves do not look sad and unhappy like that :wall::wall:

flush em & play the wait game in my opinion.. hell rip the bong bongsmiliesmoke da jay:bigjoint: just stop given em water they r chill !!

thanks to both of you. I don't think I'm over-watering, and I'm barely using any nutes. I'm on spring break right now, so I'm really letting it dry out before I water, everytime I water they are drooping like crazy. I really think its a pH problem, but I don't know, I'm a growing virgin.

dude to grow with m/h you'll need a ballast and relay with a timer. Be careful, looks like a fire hazzard to me!!!! Go with envirolights which are self ballasted and run at a much less temp. You can position the lamps within 4cm of the plants.
Good luck mate and don't think to much it'll end up doing your head in.
Me I started growing outside but because of the crappy uk weather decided to come indoors. £1000 later and running like a dream. BudBox, envirolights. M/h and sodium were just to hard to control the heat and temp so swapped to envirolights. Now I occaisionally have to use the a/c but most of time it runs perfect apart from getting my humidity down. I installed a dehumidifier today, £1.90 from Ebay, worth £60. We'll see what happens. It's not a cheap hobby if you want 'the chronic'. My nutrients, all Canna bio came to £70 alone for one grow.
The most important thing is that you enjoy it and spend as much time with your babies as you can!!!
Chrissy.

Thanks for all who helped with my journal here, this grow was a learning experience even though I really didn't grow anything. ( had to cut down early for security reasons.) I did take a clipping however so hopefully she'll turn in a good harvest, we shall see. Check out my other pages in the future, thanks for the help.

Damn homie you cut it down cause of the pigs? Those plants were way over stretched anyway so you may have gotten only 4 to 6 grams.

Well I think you should try hempy next time to help if you have PH problems, I also let my water sit in open gallon containers in the grow room for at least a day, I fill them up after I water and let them sit.

+rep for gettin a HPS your first grow though.
Usually its CFL lights used on n00b grows.:eyesmoke:
