Hi guys.. This may sound stupid but can someone explain what a low rider is? Is this just a short plant?

Also..auto flowering? Do these flower during 18/6?

Can anyone let me know the advantages and disadvantages of low riders and autos?
Mom currently in my first grow and trying to learn more - check out my post from yesterday.

1. Lowryder was a strain developed by the joint doctor. It was one of the first succesful attempts at making an autoflowerring strain. It has williams wonder, ruderalis ( part that gives the autoflowering characteristic), and a northern light #2.

2. Most would agree that has done autoflowering strains that the best lighting from seed to finish is a light period of 18/6.

3. Advantages of autoflower strains. They are not subject to a photoperiod. It will flower when it was meant to flower because it is genetically encoded in it. Their time of harvest is more predictable than strains with alot of influences meaning not too much variety in phenotypes. You can do multiple runs a year more than most. For instance lets say in a year I do not do any autostrains and do regular runs I average around 5-6 a year. If you did autoflower runs exclusively you theoretically can have almost double the amount of cycles.

4. Disadvantages of autostrains. There is a slight sacrifice in overall yield. There is slightly a sacrifice in thc power in some strains very minimal in others there is a bigger difference. Unrealistic to have mothers for an auto strain has encoded in it a specific life span.

Cheers mate - appreciate the quick response. Sounds like something to experiment with in a later grow - I'm on my first grow and about a month in....going OK I think but its hard to tell as I know zero ppl who grow and took it up for med reasons.

Can I ask a question? my hydro shop guy said using the red CFl all the way through growth would make the plant stretch as it looked for the blue spectrum?? the plants have done the total opposite, they are short and very busy.....anyone explain this?

i've got 2 strains under the 1 light and exact same conditions throughout the grow and 1 is stretched to hell and the 2 of the other strain and tight and bushy. dont know why so putting it down to different strains.

Oh right......Yea, they are all similar hight but one is topped and taking a little longer to catch up. I would like to flower soon as I'm tight on time at this flat - I know the plants are small but they have plenty of nodes and leaves....you think its OK to flower now? I'd rather keep them small anyway but don't wanna compromise the bud...thoughts?
thanks for the help bro.
