Yooo all, couple I'm sure ubernewb questions...

How much of the basket do you want in the water? Does it depend on the amount of airflow?

I'm going to have to post some pics, my poor tomatoe plants:twisted:!

maybe I've overlooked something really simple, pics and updates inc!

I keep the water just below the basket, but being misted constantly by popping bubbles. The roots will come down into the water.

Can you put to much water into ur res? I would say 70% of the bucket is in the water, good/bad/terrible? Should I take some water out? I can't really see to many roots yet,
To be honest my setup is ghetto- kinda gnarly lol. Couple Sunblaster cfls, 26L Rubbermaid res x 2, x2 10gal Airpumps, Couple T's x2 Checkvalves I dunno Buncha foil tape&tinfoil lol. This is setup under a table in the bedroom, big fish tank ontop, sickly stealth like:twisted:.

I'm thinking either, I'm fuckn up the nutes, or the heat 82* degrees steadly.. I dunno? hopefully with these three pics help heh.

oh nutes = WildThing A.B&M 1.5ml per liter (water-nutes-water-nutes) every other day.

If you OG's need any other info to help rectify these yellow/curling leaves, fire away

im not a pro my man but id probably lose the tin foil...ive only had bad experiences with it.. it looks also like its a little to early to be addin nutes to the mix, im not sure what your formula calls for but at the absolute most i would give it is 1/4 strength and even thats prob too high. and also if you can swing it work on some ventilation a small fan between the lights and the plant would probably help a good bit with the temp. but just my opinions im no expert brotha

Yeah, they are definitely too young for nutes right now.
You built a nice setup though.
You'll want to bring the temps down.
And yes, you have too much water in there You don't want the buckets in the water at all.
The mist from the bursting bubbles will soak the roots.
That sound like the problem.

Gnarly, i knew i was doing something wrong, so lay off the nutes, should I drain the res's and start fresh? I added an exhaust fan, I can't remove the tinfoil the setup is made from triple thick cardboard and foil) Ghettooo, I got the temps sitting at 80.7, handy havin digi in there. Thanks again, what if the roots arn't passed the bottm of the bucket? Photos inc, thanks again.

Fill a spray bottle with ph'd water and spray em a few times a day they should have roots pokin out in like 3-4 days and then try and get it to where the water level isn't at the buckets but a little bit of the splash can make it's way up there and they'll be growin like crazy in no time

Finally got control of the temp 77.1 - Few sprays a day eh, that definitely can be done

I got another couple questions!:shock::shock:

How would one manicure and grow a short buschey lil fucker? I don't have much vertical room, being under a table and all. Also, what kinda wattage per plant should a guy aim for while flowering? I'm using Sunblaster 26w and 13's atm. I'm sure that is a much over asked and answered question, heh sorry n thx :leaf:

if you dont have vertical room bot have some horizontal to work with i would definetely look into a scrog setup or lst both work better when using cfl's anyways and it depends on the grow space but id say the more the marrier as long as you can keep your temps in check... but the cfls with a ct of 2700 work best for flowering... you can mix and match just make sure your heavy on the 2700's for flower

OMG, am I trippin or are your res's clear?!?!?!!
That is a definite no no. You don't want the roots to see any light whatsoever.
It will kill them so fast.
Yeah, the scrog is a good way to with limited space.

Ill:wall: get the dimensions tonite, post em in the morning. Are there any other ways? you cant just chop the top off over n over=p???

No need to beat yourself up, doing lst and/or scrog is pretty easy man.
You can chop the top off, but it will grow more shoots upward lol, don't think that would help the height issue, but
if you are thinkin about doin the scrog method, it will bring more bud sites :D

I see the debate is still up in the air huh, can the roots get light?? Well to each his own but I have never had a problem, slightly different set up though.

lol gongshow, anyone have any good guides/links to scrog setupsThanks again fellas, lol if it wasn't for this advice my plants would soon devolve back to seeds heh

Okay, I got sometime to give a brief breakdown, more specifics.

Dimensions = 44"L x 25"W
Nutes= Wild Thing A.M&B (1.5ml per L of each) while vegging / 3ml per liter while flowering)
Lighting = 4 x 26w 150 Equiv Sunblaster HO Full Spectrum CFLs
3 x 13w Sunblasters
The Rig=
2 x 26L Rubbermaids
6 x 5" Netpots
2 x Elite 10 Gall Airpumps
4 x Elite 12" Airstones
2 x Elite Check Valves
2 x Fans (One blows air from outside the unit in, other circulates inside
1 x Exhaust Fan (fucker is small&strong, got at the hydrostore down the street, real quiet aswell)
5 x lil Chronchrons from Seed (O.G Kush )
1 x Happy fuckn Camper preyin for a mother
:hump::leaf::hump:

So yah thats the breakdown, I need to cover up the sides of my res's still, or is that just a myth?!??. Don't want to step on anyones toes here, lol, myth or cover:roll:? - the plants since I stopped over nutein em have really turned around. Even the 2 lil guys we thought we're dead are back to life! They look so much better, and temps are down to around 76*, exhaust fan helpn out tons with the heat, heh captain:blsmoke:obvious eh.

pics= Little OG's gettn healthier & the new exhaust  plants just lovin the cool temp 75-76.

Also, I'm guessing the whitish res on the rocks are from the nutes? Kinda scared me, my one buddy said not to worry about it, anyone else have concerns?

It's a little hard for me to tell w/out being there, but that whitish stuff looks awfully fungusy to me. Especially given that you've been having temp. problems, and have been using a clear reservoir, it is quite possible that you've developed some kind of rot. I'm unfamiliar with your brand of nutes, but if they aren't organic, I would recommend using h2o2 (hydrogen peroxide) immediately. It dissolves into water and oxygen, and sterilizes the tank. I've had problems with rot before, and I've found that keeping a cold, lightproof, well insulated reservoir with a touch of h2o2 will all but guarantee a healthy, sterile root zone. Here are some pics of my res with and without insulation

The nutes are organic, the local garden shop here is family owned and operated, they of course generally have much concern with "customers/friends" projects. I was assured the nutes we're top choice in store by owners & local growers, and that they are organic. The film started off really early, fuck I hope it can be can controlled.

Little Update,

-Tops and Sides of Res's have been completely blacked out, layer of black, then a layer of the shinny shit.
-Temp = 76.7 atm seems to fluctuate between 75-79.
-Lowered water level by about 60% just sitting at the bottom of the bucket.

-Take the plants out keep them in While sterilizing? jesus lol shit that makes me feel dumb...
-How much H2o2 per liter? Rough Questamation will suffice

I've been reading non stop heh, and there's so much more to fuckn learn! I wanna be the Mr Miyagi of chron:evil: gonna take awhile lol.

Not really sure, haven't used hydroton before.
Have you been pouring nutes from the top?
Maybe its dried leftover nutes. Wish I could help man. :(
