Sensi, Welcome to riu and we want you to enjoy your stay here. It would probably be a good idea to introduce yourself in the new members section so we can get to know you a little better. You can use the seed link right here in my post for seeds. I've used them many times with no problems and they are a sponsor.
Please don't be put off by rico's post, maybe he has a crystal ball he uses to judge people that he doesn't know yet. LOL

Im sure he meant no harm, unfortunately spam and advertisements are a huge problem here. We want all are users to be safe so we are all weary of that kind of stuff.

Hey, folks -

Another Brooklynite here, just wanted to say hello. I knew I wasn't the only person in Brooklyn growing (ha ha ha, there's probably a grow on every block!) but nice to see some fellow gardeners here.

Also, my thanks to everyone who has been sharing knowledge here - thanks to all of you, I'm on my second grow (and about to go enjoy the fruits of my first!) and looking forward to a bountiful harvest later this fall.

Last thing - at the beginning of the thread there was some talk about garden supply shops in the area. I'm familiar with the Indoor/Outdoor Gardener in Bay Ridge, but what's (and where's) the place on Horace Harding, or something like that? I'd love to check them out, Indoor/Outdoor are very nice people but, as someone else mentioned, they are pretty pricey.

If your from Brooklyn, like myself, id suggest Naty Garden. Its on Dean Street i believe and they have a decent selection of soils, fertilizers, and ammendments. No real equipment though like ballast, bulbs, etc.

Let me add to natty gardens the guys who work there are cool Dreds :weed: lol
Dude gave me a nice deal on a small purchase of a couple bags of fox farm happy frog and oceanb forest and ff nutrients. If you want organics to get you started definitely check it out. Other than that they dont carry chems and do not have alot of selection as far as different nutrients. Only fox farms liquids and some dry foods (not the beasties_cha Ching and w/e else). Earth juice grow and bloom and rainbow mix then finally Guanos.

Oh snap the homie ditching the coco for the soil?? Ahaha

Thats exactly what I was asking around for! I wanted to know if i could mix coco and soil. Seems like you would get the benefits of coco but also have a good buffer with the micro nutrients in the soil.
Root organics is a coco/soil mix and there is a product called "super coco" where all you have to add is water

It's been super cold out here, not saying in from New York in any way. Has anyone heard about legalizing? There's interesting stuff out there
