Hello all led growers. I'm currently in a transition of upgrading some of my equipment. So I figured I could use some more lighting. I need a led panel to replace a 400w hos/mh that primarily gets used to veg. Any good brand's in the 125 to 150 range I should look into?
Thanks in advance

While there's not much savings in electricity you could get two "300w" Viparspectra from Amazon.. The cheap purple LED's are great for VEG. Nice bushy plants. I say get two 300's rather than one 600w so that you can move things around a bit.. If I have my crappy 75 w Apollo LED in my veg tent along with CFL the plants all lean towards the purple LED.

I forget their total draw in power. It's around 135-150 watts per unit. They will run cooler than a 400w HID

The alternative is to buy 4 Cobs in the 4000k range, but now you're into the $400 range..

Nice bushy plants are what im after. I have a 6.5x3.5x7 closet I like to fill out with just 2 maybe 3 plants topping out about 3.5 to 4 ft. But wide enough to fill in that 3.5. I start them vegging in a small cab a few weeks before the next harvest then finish vegging in the closet.

for an area that size you should really have 400-600W of led. was your 400 on a lightmover?
What do you light your flower room with?

How large is your Veg space?

The 400 is in my veg space which measures around 4' x 3' x 4.5'. I know it's small but it's the best I can do atm. I had a way larger Set up but things change lol.

The room that I finish out my veg and flower in is 6.5x3.5x7. And it is covered by 2 600w hps. This fall I'm adding either another 600w or leds in there also.

You're talking to a guy who now grows in a 2x2 space :)

The Cobs are nice, but not sure they are worth the $ for veg.. I still like blurple for that.

Nice, that's a pretty small space what kind of yield you pull there. I have a small space just about 2x2 I thought about doing a small organic head stash run for Christmas this year. May let the leds have a go with that instead.

mmm... I don't know my yield. Getting good genetics has been a problem as of late..

I recently downsized and am finally getting it all dialed in with the COB..I more or less just mess around with it. It's just a hobby. I live in Cali so weed has no real monetary value :) Last harvest was a lemon kush in a 1 gallon pot under 150w hps. 1.5 oz of decent bud.

Right now I have 4 unknown hybrids in flower and one that I planted to experiment with 12/12. Total of 200w of Cob that I run at around 160 watts. This strain doesn't look like a real big yielder. I was told that it is dosido fem seeds. At least they are all female which is a relief. I'm guessing that if I grew Big Bud or something I could get 3 ounces under a scrog.

Surprisingly the 12/12 from seed plant looks the best. It's 3 weeks from sprout. . It has nice stature, big fan leaves etc.. From now on I'll probably start all my seeds on 12/12 for 2-3 weeks then 16/8 if I want them larger. Lately I've had issues with seedlings just stretching too much and then they break when I "F" with them :) For a while there I had more tape than plant :)

The last pic is the 12/12. I'm hoping to get a nice fat single cola. She will finish later than the others so she'll have the light mostly to herself. The others are about 30 days into flower. I just defoilated.

Just recently the adds on Amazon was removed for that 300w vipar. Someone recently posted some pics of one with a semi melted reflector that surrounds all those little led's and a few days later that entire model and all posts were removed and it had like over 400 reviews. I do still see it for sale though on their web site and on ebay. Can anyone find this now on Amazon?
