New to ebb and flow who's got me

So I have a newly constructed 4x4 flood tray with 8 five inch netpots with some seedlings that are two weeks old. They were started in rapid rooters and transplanted into washed hydro clay. I have the net pots suspended into the table hanging from a foam board. The flood height goes to right at the bottom of the netpots. Roots are start in to grow out of the bottoms of the pots but nothing explosive. Since I'm new to ebb and flow I was wondering if the height should be filling to at least half of the netpots, or should I be wetting the rapid rooters
or if it's fine how it is. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Mr goodtimes. I lost one of my northern lights seedlings. Went to check on them and it was shriveled up dead. Extracted it from the clay and seen the rapid rooter was completely dry so I guess I need to stay on top of hand watering every few days as the rooters aren't getting any water. Thanks man.

I submerged mine and it had wonderful results. 20160315_123011.jpg 20160315_123111.jpg

I thought about just putting the pots directly in the table, but I don't have enough hydro clay to surround the netpots to keep the light off the roots. Where I'm at the rock is expensive!

If they are suspended you will have to flood more often, if you had a little one die (sorry that sucks) try flooding more often. You need to keep a humid environment (rich in oxygen) for them to thrive.

Or; Adjust the water flood level so it wets the rapid rooter until you have some well established roots, then you can back the flood level down a bit or let it ride.

Or; you can submerge like Airwalker. That works great too, and uses less water to flood, and you can flood less often.

Yea I extended the cycles last night and hand watered to make sure the rapid rooters got wet. Thinking of just putting the net pots down into the table and laying the foam board I have back over the top to block what light I can, this way I can ensure the rooters get wet. Don't really know at this point what to do. They are still alive! Thanks for the help and input

The only problem with the hydroton on the table is eventually the roots will grow and get stuck to the rocks. This isn't a problem is you plan on leaving them in there through flower, but transplanting will be a bitch.

Also, I'm sprouting some seedlings now in rooters. They're 3 days since they popped out of the rooters. How long should I wait to put them in the hydroton pots?

Amazon had 40 litres of "Plant !t" for like $30-40.

I transplanted mine into DWC buckets. You just flood the table and the hydroton floats. The roots do too. You just ease them out slowly.

Gotcha.

I'm following AlphaPhase's concept of flood table and transplant into the ebb and grow 2 gals. I know he had some issues with pulling them out of the table and ended up chopping some roots.
