New to coco after 17 years in soil.... Here we go!

So I am finally gonna take the step from promix, organics/soil to straight coco coir. Thinking of going with canna coco (bags not bricks...)

This will be a seed run and mainly a pheno hunt (as well as production for income). So there will be a wide range of phenos and strains in here. From 8 weekers to 11. I have a drip irrigation system already in place that I was using previously for my promix.

4 1000watt HPS hortilux bulbs... air cooled hoods, sealed, minisplit.

In your opinion and since I am new to coco and dont really know which route to take, how would you go about running this one? Straight coco? 2 or 3 gal pots? Etc? Planning on doing a short 3 or 4 week veg, since I am running a large number of plants. So take this into consideration.... I have 60 beans popped and 90% are regulars... 10% gems. So I will be culling the males ( keeping a few for breeding studs) and estimating to be left with around 30 females that I'll be running.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I dont have the time to experiment and work into coco, if I'm going to do this, I only have the choice to jump straight into it as this is my main source of income. I can't screw it up or I'll be screwed...

Prep the coco with cal mag like done on coco for cannabis website

feed feed feed. keep track of ur ppm.

I'm told drip is no good ........ flood it through until runoff 1x or 2x a day.
I pour 1+ litre (1/4 nutes) through their 3 gallon and 5 gallon pots every morning and the plants love it.

I’m using canna coco on this run. I mixed proly 60/40 or 70/30 with perlite. Final pots 3 gal and I can say I’m glad I didn’t go up to my 5 gal cause few of the girls already almost too tall

I run promix hp with extra perlite and worm castings + a few other things. Ran coco a few times and just didn't like it. Think I would've like it better if I ran a drip system. Went back to my promix hp mix and love it.

Doesn't make much difference in the end, my 3gals are easily as big as my 5gals.
You just end up watering the smaller pots more frequently.

Yes to this. Pot size in coco dictates how often you need to water much more than the size of the plant like in soil. There are people growing trees in 1 gal pots, just needs fed several times a day once the plants reach a certain size.

Biggest difference I've noticed going from soil to coco was I needed to pre-charge my coco with approximately 300 ppm (0.6EC) fertilizer for seedling (final ppm not initial) and i fertilize with 1/4 strength (approx 0.6EC) from day one. Never water with plain water and don't let the coco dry out.

For what it's worth, I like the Botanicare ReadyGro Moisture coco blend. I like to flush it with dechlorinated water to get rid of some of the fines, but I'm running hempy buckets not fabric pots.
