i've been thinking of going indoor this year and looking at some setups. i was thinking a Ebb & grow 12 pot system with two 600w lights w/ digital ballasts. is that enough light? anyone ever use one of these systems? wil a 5' x 8' room be big enough? help a brother out

I have and use that very system, only in sexy all black. I'm only using 5 pots now due to space limitations. That's partly why I bought the system, so I can expand(or contract) when I have the means. I'm very happy with my purchase. Two 600W lights should be plenty of light. You'll be growing nice little trees in no time. My girls are all about 4' tall and I should be chopping them around Valentine's Day. Welcome to RIU. :leaf:

Each pot is about 9" in diameter. The rez is about 22". I think you could squeeze everything in your 5x8 space, but I don't know how much walking around room you will have. As for the lights, I think 2 600W lamps would be best. You have an oblong space and two lights will give you greater coverage. By the way, I have a 1 saquare meter grow tent and the max number of pots I can fit in there is 8. It would be 9, but the controller bucket is in there too.

cr8z what size room do you think you would need to fit it all comfortably? thanks for the help so far.

I don't know, that's why I gave you the measurements. Yes, I suck at math. If I was in your situation I would use a bunch of scrap paper and make a mock-up of all 12 pots, the controller bucket(about the size of a pot) and rez so you can have a good representation of placement and size, then decide for yourself if you'll be able to access everything with relative ease.

The mock-up will obviously only be two-dimensional, but it's really footprint size that you're most concerned with here. Also keep in mind that all the pots aren't supposed to be squeezed together tightly. You want some space between pots, especially if you decide to grow 3-4' plants, which is really what this systems excells at. Ebb & Gro wasn't designed for Sea Of Green grows.
