Guy's and gal's, if you havent seen these ballasts before, check out these bad boys....

Make sure you got deep pockets if you want to invest in these ballasts, but for commercial growers, this is freaking awesome.

Any idea how much these are running? Also do they have a parent company?(do they have a track record of effective ballasts?)

How are they handling sequencing? RF signal between the ballasts? Signal sent over the electrical wire like HomePower networking does?

What if you had 6 ballasts in one room and 6 in another... can it distinguish room A from room B? etc... Interesting setup for sure.

Also - couldn't you build a room automation controller (need expertice in the field of course) for probably less than the extra costs on these?
If the sequential startup is the big selling point, that just needs an external sequencer to control power on/off.... relay magic...

I think I saw one online for like $399 but I didn't dig around for the best price I could find. So in theory if these were $100 more each and
someone wanted 6 of them... that's a $600 budget for a automation setup that could control far more than just lighting... Right?

I'm thinking like the RoboGrow journal posted here on RIU...

These are what I'm going to step up to soon. Depending on what size only around 350-400 each. Well not the remote one but don't want that anyways.
No they don't work off rf. It's works off the outlets power draw. When a ballest fires up it pulls a large draw till bulb is fully powered. Somehow they read that and only after power is stable dose the next ballist fire. You still have to stay with in your braker amperage. So that tells you how many you can have on 1 curcut. So if room A is on it's own braker room B won't even know about room A.

Nice. And likely a lot cheaper circuit than say RF, PowerLine Ethernet, BlueTooth or any of those comm. techs...

Any other company's ballasts doing something that 'smart' ? Or do they have that market cornered atm...

Good luck building a protected circuit with timed relay control, the other downfall with that is, it is only on a cyclic timer, there is no way for the ballasts to do stability checks on loads before triggering next contact.
Keep in mind these ballasts are software driven defining parameters that previously we havent had control over, we can see fluctuations on the source power, the output, the life of the unit etc.
Currently, Solistek's ballasts are relatively new to the market, however, they are fast becoming a reliable leader in ballast technology.

I saw then at max yields indoor expo in long beach this year. That is what got me thinking. I did my wireing and know I can have 3000w on 1 curcut but that would do a breaker overload if all fire at once. I would love to open up another plug in my room.

they have one on arofhydro.com is this a legit site never heard of them im about to buy one in a week so if anybody knows if this sites legit let me know i saw it on ebay but i dont trust ebay at all

same here i googled the company its out in LA im gonna call them and see what the deal is. i would buy one for that price its pretty ill all the way to 400w with the 5% increases all the way up thats awesome. i have been thinking about buying a 600 recently but all teh ballasts are the same shit so i was gonna wait till i saw a deal on CL but this is way better more what i want.

Trust me I know. Wish I knew about them when I got my 400-600-1000 ballasts. I need 2 more grows and all up graded might even do the veg room
