Thanks fellas!!!!! Like I said before hand I took a cola down and trimmed it up. Going to do a test per Bak a see what kind of high I get. Thanks a ton for the help and input. Too bad we all couldn't get together and pass a few of our homegrown around a nice circle!!

a more heady high is what you get form early harvest. you can chop a branch off. harvest it in sections.

I have chopped a cola earlier... I can see some amberish trichs with the naked eye.... I might take a few more off and let some of the other buds go another week or so. I like both head and couch lock highs. Just not sure If I want to chop the whole thang

From what I can see from the pictures, I would give it at least another week.

I think this picture of this Black Domina x Bubblegum is a good example of a plant that is pretty much has finished at it will get. You can see the calaxys really swollen up, and the hairs looking like they are going back into the calaxys, turn orange/red/brown.

Notice the bud almost looks like it burst out from the leaves, and the hairs are almost all turned color. I consider this a finish flower. Each plant looks different, but this is a good example of how it swells and turns color at the end of harvest when it says I want to be chopped I'm tapped out.

Ok sounds good. And yeah I think when I see the hairs receding is when I'll know for sure breeder says 8 to 9 weeks. So give er take next week Wednesday is week 8. Otherwise she has done a lot of swelling in the past week. Ah so smelly too :) thanks for the input

Lol well I hope my WW will tell me personally she taps out haha

Well plus you said you took some off so if it test out good, then if you leave it another week or two it will only get more couch locky/heavy stoney feel. Plus the longer you go the little more weight you get adds up.

Make sure when you test your bud you're not quick drying it, dry it like you normally would and smoke it when it's dry enough to go into jars to cure. That way you get the best possible test most similar to what the finish product will be. It just won't taste or smell as good.

Yeah I got the buds hanging up right now drying. I have no plans on quick dry or microwave zapping haha figured give it about 4 to 5 days and it should be dry enough to smoke :)

Yeah 5 days should be fine depending on your temp and humidity. In my room I can dry buds in three days to smoke and still come out pretty well. My main drying room has a humidifier and dries for a good 7-10 days.

i agreeas long as your plant is making new white hairs she isnt ready. she will stop making them and swell and then they willl turn darker in color. that is when i would give her 24 hrs dark and chop her with as little light as possible let her dry slow.

I haven't seen much of a difference in light and dark periods, even while drying and curing.

Until I see scientific evidence, and then try it myself multiple times to confirm, I won't believe any of it.

I have dried buds in my bed room and in a cold closest at exact same conditions with no difference. I have chop in the morning and at night, I normally stagger my chopping throughout a time period and have no issues. Leaving half a plant chopped, ect.

I believe in seeing and people able to eyeball the plant finishing because it makes a distinct change, that you eventually learn to judge your plants on eyeballing compared to scoping. I'm glad you agree, but the whole dark period stuff I'm iffy on.
