Got my 2x2x6 back up with the Mars Hydro ts1000. Going with x3 fem auto strain, Big Bud XXL. Will be my first time with autos! I let soak in water for 24hrs, ph 6.4 temp 75.
After that, i put into my soil mixture that i like. Pushed a hole in the center of my fabric pots down 1 knuckle or half inch to an inch deep to plant seeds. Hope they sprout!! Got seeds from Seed Supreme, like i said, strain is Big Bud XXL ... Anyone ever try this strain?
Also i heard for autos its best to put them in their final planter right away. Is a 3gal fabric pot too much space for the seeds?

Planting directly in final containers requires close attention to moisture levels in your medium and especially around the direct area of your seed and hopefully seedling. It’s very easy to overwater because you might be scared of letting the medium dry out- and then whoops the baby might be drowning. I personally have only done it a couple of times and it was tricky.
I think if you aim to lightly spray the surface with a spray bottle and don’t overdo it, you should be ok.
sorry my suggestion isn’t very scientific or quantifiable but you really just need to be aware of the dangers of agitating the seed while it’s trying to germinate and also once the seedling is standing upright then you are trying to protect the tiny vulnerable roots. Be gentle.

Yeah im nervous about a 3gal planters to start in. Good idea tho, i will spray just around the seedling area, lightly. Got it under 24hr light and 25% light intensity and now just waiting on them to pop out of the dirt.

Check out my grow in my signature. I started as a 2x2x4.5 with 3 autos and felt it was too crammed so I had to open my tent up to 3x2x4.5. I have my 3 girls in 3.5 gallon regular plastic pots and they are doing great. My purple lemonade has been flowering since 21 days from soil pop and shes on day 40 right now.

When planting in the final pot, a good way to ease into watering I have found, is to saturate a paper towel. Then, gently squeeze the paper towel out in a small circle around the seed. I keep doing that when needed until exiting the seedling stage. Often, I have to re-dip the paper towel (I use a Solo Cup) and drizzle again. But, at least I am slowly applying the water and not over-doing it. The technique is surprisingly relaxing, also.

So far, you do not appear to be over-watering to me. It looks about right for popping beans.

Update: Day 3 of grow. Project started Dec. 11th @ 1pm ( planted seeds)

Today, Sunday @ 1:00pm

Sooo i had quite a surprise this afternoon, FINALLY had 1 sprout out of 3 . I know its only day 3 but i was a little nervous. I spent the last 2-3 weeks attempting to get some ancient seeds to pop and nothing! So my spirit has been down in the dumps. Learned a lot about proper storage for seeds lolol.

Unfortunately i think i saw my first MITE crawling around the top soil... They better not sabotage meeee. The gnats don't really bother me tho, there are a few but no big deal...yet.

Heres my first auto popping up, can you spot it?20201213_134330.jpg

Awesome! I do see the cotyledon leaves emerging in the center there. When I first started out, I threw out 6 White Widow Auto seeds because I thought they were no longer viable. Sometimes, germination can take a while. I also don't see my seeds popping at exactly the same pace sometimes. So, I think it's important to exercise patience.

I am not sure what the extent the pest residence might be there. Hopefully it won't be a big deal for you.

It was a huge relief seeing one immerge. I think you're right about having patience. Now that at least one of three has popped i am more relieved and hopeful. Gonna just let the tent be for now and check on it tonight.
I can live with one auto if it comes down to it, ill just train it to death lol.

Glad She popped! Im following. My green crack auto popped at the very end of 3 days, but it had me worried because I had moby dick pop 1 day, purple lemonade pop the 2nd day, so that 3rd day felt so long!

What soil are you using? I'm trying to keep organic as possible, and so far I've only used water. Next grow I'm definitely getting better soil though.

Been using Natures Care organic, no added fertilizers or time released anything. This is my 2nd grow and im recycling the old dirt and adding new , 50/50 added mixture . Everything came out great with the first grow in this dirt. I do feel like it may have had a decent boost of nutrients already cause i had to use 1/4 strength of my fox farm trio nutrients the whole time. I think i may have been over watering at the end too... Seems like towards the end of flower, my plants were taking in waaaay less water.
I keep the soil like a 40/60 ~ perlite/soil ratio. There's worm castings and all that good stuff in the soil mixture too

That last run looked good! Dry weight? Next run im thinking about nature's living soil or some sort of living soil so I can do water only.

FYI you don’t want the power cord to be resting on the top of your light bad idea specifically 24/7
I feel that, i hate that the cord bends down from the back vent hole up top and under the light like that. But honestly 3 days of 25% light intensity and the cords and multi outlet are cool to the touch. I want to get everything up and out of the way but im a big dude and its hard for me to adjust anything in this tiny space in a small closet lol. Running the light at 100% intensity for 12hr for 9 weeks and had no issue. But i feel you still lol i dont like the cord hanging down like that

Only ended up being a lil over 4oz dried sadly. Looked like so much oroginally lol. All 3 of my plants turned hermie cause of heat stress last grow, nearly killed them all. Literally all the leaves died and i was left with a stem as a plant.... But i did not give up!! 3-4 months of vegging and they came back 20201110_165222.jpg
