New seedlings dying after sprout, what am I doing wrong?

One little trick I also want to mention. Whenever I see that green on the surface of the soil it suggests too much moisture. I sprinkle dry peat moss on top to kill it and/or scratch the surface of the soil.
 
What did I do wrong ? This was a few days before and after

Med soil but I had a bunch of white spiders so I sprinkled some diotomaceous earth to look them but it happened after I gave it some nutrients, was it too soon ? Maybe I can recall I started growing from seed on sep 24. I now have it with plastic on top ( homemade growhouse) it's at 75 degrees and 50% humidity. Thanks for the reply and help.!
