I just made a new res... its 30 galons for 7 plants... but when i move them here... i want to start flowering...

Is it ok to still put Veg nutes there and top off with flower nutes? or start fresh with Flower nutes??

What flower nutes should i get? i have 2 hydro shops near here with about all the brands.

I got a timer for 12/12 light..

Here is the res.. tell me what you guys think ! :)

Looks good, you'll need some veg nutes in those first two weeks of flowering anyway, for the growth spurt. after the two weeks, you'll want to flush the res out, and mix up a fresh flowering batch of nutrient "Soup" :)

OK - here's the deal...

you can use veg nutes for 1 or 2 weeks after switching to 12/12 if you WANT the growth spurt. if you are worried about overgrowing then switch to bloom straight away.

When you do switch to bloom nutes, you should drain (and consider cleaning) your reservoir and you should start your bloom nutes at 1/4 - 1/2 strength (like around 3-400 PPM) and build them up gradually - just like for veg nutes.

and yes - you should take clones before switching to 12/12 if possible.

i would use the bloom or flower version of whatever nutes you are currently using.

Keep in mind the plant wants that growth spurt, if it does not have enough nutrients to do what it wants, it may run into deficiencies, this happens alot when going straight to bloom nutes, with very low amounts of nitrogen.

I'm also not one to start so slow on bloom nutes, when you've already built up to a certain ppm. Being careful is always good, but at some point you'll want optimal. i've hit 3000 ppm without issue before, so 400 in the start of my blooming is just too under powered. Definitly do not start at 3000, but i think 400 is a bit low. if anything, i'd start at 700, and work up in 200-300 incriments. It's up to you though, i had more balls. slight nute burn on the tips of my plants, and not full nute burn, showed me that i hit just above the optimal levels, and now i knew where i stood.

hey email... Res reads 650PPM... and when i check this night... it was around the same PPM. I marked a spot inside my res to know how much water is gone.. and it was down about 2 inches But same PPM... Does this mean its good PPM or do i need to reduce?

from what the PPM thread says - if your water level goes down and the PPM remains about the same, then you have found the optimum PPM level.

next grow, i'm going to go very lightly on the nutes and see what happens.
