New home made closet!

hey everyone,

Ive recently started a small project for the first time. I have already built the box, which is a 4' wide 2' deep 8' tall wood frame wrapped in black and white plastic. I have a 400 watt light, and going soil.

I am currently stumped as to what to use for a ventilation system, and looking for help. Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks, Peace:peace:

check out the 6 inch inlinie fan for 79.90 in this thread > https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/237610-best-deals-thread-post-best.html

the site that sells that fan has other sizes too.. Like an 8 inch for only 20.00 more

ok, so i didnt give u all the facts. i do have a fan, its a 6" inline fan from can.

When i set it up, i set it up as a exhaust within in the box. I mounted the inline fan at the top of the box pointing toward one side. When i did that and turned on the fan the room imploded on its self.

so i guess now my question is, only if my inline would work, how should i set up the ventilation? :peace:

so im not sure what to do.

sry for lol'ing ..But thats just a hella funny mental picture.

Prolly too many CFM and not enough rigidity ( real word? ) in your frame. You are using the fan to move the air OUT of the cab right? I mean, its not just sitting in your cab blowing is it?

ya it was :D.

ya it moves ALOT of air.

no there is not a lot of rigidity to the cab, its just 4 posts with the plastic wrapped around and stapled to it.

Would that be the problem?

or, would no intake holes other then the zipper to close the cab. Be the problem.

Should i open a intake hole, near the bottom for plants, and add a smaller computer like fan?

Also add a fan controller for the inline and turn it down quite a bit?

if you put the fan in the top and its sucking air out of the closet the your good to go. the whole impolision thing is funny as fuck tho i could see me being stoned of my ass inside that thing and then turn the fan on, would scare me shitless. but yeah i have a little tote tub thing and the exhaust on that was way to strong. It would suck the lid down tight so i cut a hole in the opposit bottom part of the box. the fan is so strong it pulls air in through that hole and then out of the side its in. might go with something like that if your fan is that strong.

Yea you def need an intake port.. Thats why your cab imploded.. you can prolly get away with only a passive intake ( just a hole ). A fan controller is another good idea.

Add another post in the middle of each side except the door. That should help keep it from sucking in as much. And yeah add at least a 4 inch passive intake vent

so i added a length of plywood with a 5x4" hole, and wood on all 3 walls xcept the main door. but the negative pressure is so great that i may have to add 2 more 2x4's a quarter of the way in on both sides of the zipper opening. or buy a fan controller.

im trying to decide if i need to do both the 2x4's and the controller. or if i can get away with just the controller?
