New here with a question

I'll start by saying I'm no grower, just a stoner, but my friend and I found this plant at our old high school a couple of nights ago while really high, and we were convinced it was marijuana.

We went back tonight sober and grabbed a leaf, and although the shape is right, the thing that threw me is that the leaf is a reddish maroon in colour with some green. We took a leaf and have taken some pictures of it.

Also this plant is quite literally in plain sight, as its sitting on the lawn near a main street.

My question to you is are we the luckiest stoners ever, or is this just some lookalike plant?

I'm not overly worried about the police. I live in Canada, so they're not that hard on pot. My friend and I are thinking about taking it and replanting it sometime late at night to somewhere that only we know.

As I said, I've never grown before so its hard to judge, but the plant is maybe just shy of 3 feet tall.

Since school ended about two weeks ago I'd say it was planted then. I'll try and get some pics of it tomorrow in the day time.

my friend that is the leaf of a japanese maple tree. used to have one in the back yard. very very similar looking though. damn...keep looking/smelling haha

The maple leaf that is on our flag doesn't have the same shape.


It does look just like that. Thats disappointing but thanks for the information.

1. Cannabis leaves aren't connected at the base, where they come together. Each "finger" tapers-off to it's own "stem".

2. The serrations ("Saw-teeth") are also more uniform.
