New 'Hail' grow medium looks promising! Anyone tried it yet?

How the hell is this "Hail" stuff?

I think I'm going to give it a try once I've used up all the hydroton I currently have. I like hydroton but it's a bit messy to prepare indoors and I don't like the rinse and rinse and rinse and rinse again process to get rid of all the clay dust - that gets old fast...

Don't care if it reusable or not - I have never reused growing mediums (sanitary/cleanliness reasons).

By the way, it's not biodegradable - it's plastic. Recycle it or incinerate:

PETE1 is not biodegradable but is highly recyclable and can be cleanly burned in a biomass furnace with a thermal value similar to soft coal.
PET1, as with many plastics, is also an excellent candidate for thermal disposal (incineration), as it is composed of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, with only trace amounts of catalyst elements (but no sulphur). PET1 has the energy content of soft coal.

It's a grow medium, I guess it can be used in hydro setups or just thrown in a pot and used like soil. I'd like to try some just because I'm so sick of bugs atm. =P

I'd considered using it as well because of the clay dust made by the hydroton. I really don't care about if it's biodegradable or not as my city has an awesome recycling program so it's no big deal.

I think my only real issue is the price of it as it's (of course) a bit more expensive than the hydroton and I only grow one plant at a time so I dunno I may just put up with the dust. Despite that it looks like an awesome medium to grow in.

that looks pretty cool, along with everyone else I too am sick of the mess and hassle of hydroton. But i heard once that the stg big blocks were trash they hold to much water and started to compress and damage roots over time?? maybe these cubes are better???
