whats up yall im a new guy who needs advice. i have a room 15'l 6'w 10'h and im starting from scratch. i have jorges grow bible and dvd (which i read/watched like a million times lol) but i didnt get brand names for all the pieces for settin up the room. i seen a nice price for a all in 1 setup for 10girls but i think i could build something bigger (roomwise) where i can expand to more plants after i get the hang of things. i have $500 for the job but i still need to buy seeds so does anyone know of a setup that would work for me?

If you are going to buy lights, fans, nutes, soil etc for a room that big you're probably going to need more than 500US... Closets, especially with HID lights are almost impossible to keep cool unless you have fans that cost 150US or more. And your lights (I would recommend 2x400 and you could do 20 small plants in 1 gallon containers in a sea of green) would cost 300-400US. But you would get .5 - 1 oz per plant every 3 months using only one closet and a small cabinet to keep clones and a small mother.

As for seeds, just get a bag of something with beaners in it and grow those to start. Comercial strains have good genetics, they just aren't dried and cured the right way. After you get the hang of growing, you can drop a couple hundred on good seeds, though it is illegal to aquire seeds in the US from out of the country.

i wouldnt go that big to start.
get an old double closet and a 250/400 hps for 12/12 and a small grow box with flos for vegg.
its best to have 2 rooms.
one for vegg on 24/0
and one for 12/12.
then you will always have plants ready to flower.
and if you get better at growing then go bigger after you have a couple of harvests under your belt.
i have like a bed blanket box for vegg with 2 long flos on 24/0 and vegg upto 1 foot, then put into my 12/12 closet.
keep a girl and use it for a mother when you find a strain what you like.

i only have the free room and it doesnt have a closet:wall: i looked at cabinets but they are kinda expensive and it seems like i would have to buy a new one to upgrade.jorges tent from his dvd looked good but he didnt say prices. i want to start with at least 10 girls:weed:

get plywood or 2x4s and build a box or frame and cover with panda film..very cheap and better than buying a closet or growtent..with the plywood all you need is4 sides a top peice and a bottom.with the 2x4s all you need is 10 sticks cut it to the size you want it and build a frame cover it with panda film and you will be way happier than buying a closet or growtent.

panda is good.
but flat matt white is just as good.
is this your 1st grow?.
if so i wouldnt go with sog, for the 1st grow, just get the feel for growing.
before you try all the diff ways to grow.
they is a lot to learn.
sog is easy just lots of small plants as aposed to a few bigger plants.
its better to sog with female clones, .
because clones are uniform and the same, and grow the same, as they are all the same plant and gens.

ooooooooh ok! i never knew what it ment. yea technically its my second but u might as well say its my first last time was some schwag i put in my back yard that a ground hog ate(:finger:groundhog!) so this time i wanna do it inside and do it right

for your first grow just grow and see how you can do..once you got all the basics down then worry about s.o.g...hydro is expensive and if using soil for s.o.g. thats gonna be expensive to..so i would try out soil get good switch to hydro learn that then go to s.o.g. but keep a mom from your first female.

One 400 watt HPS will work for the whole grow, from seed to harvest. Grow in plain old topsoil, don't use the Miracle Grow soil. Get some Fox Farms Ocean Forest (FFOF) soil if you can find it. Soil is more forgiving of mistakes and easier for the novice grower to get a harvest. Grow just a couple of plants at first, until you know how they respond to certain aspects such as light, nutes, pruning, rate of growth etc etc. Once you can grow em decent, then go all out with clones and can setup a perpetual grow.

Hydro is more expensive no doubt, and very unforgiving of mistakes, best leave that for when you have more experience like whyteberry said, hes giving good advice. Learn the basics first, the basics when mastered will give you a much better yield than all the advanced growing techniques combined. Grow On!!
