New grower having trouble.

This batch has died (or VERY near) now but i would really like to know what killed them.

I planted 4 seeds that one of my mates found is his batch that was bought off the street. (Wasn't expecting anything good lol)

I am expecting you all to say that it was to hot for them as where they were located was near impossable to regulate the heat.

Anyway onto the details. My crop was 5 weeks old and they started to yellow around the outside of the leaves. Where they were kept the temperature was around 22C with the lights off and around 30C with it on. The humidity of the room was around 44 and 55%. The light that i was using was a 400x Grolux HPS light that was on around 18 hours a day.

Here are some pics of them around 2 weeks ago. Since then the leaves had turned totally brown but there were new green leaves forming still so i assumed the plant was trying and cut the dead ones off so they wernt wasting energy on dead leaves.

I think you are giving them too much water ?
do you let your top soil dry a few inch before watering again ?
Do you know the ph of your water ?

How far away is the light? They look like they're stretching for light.

they look hungry, what soil do you have, have you fed them yet?

are you guys crazy??? thats nute burn if i've ever seen it.. what type of soil are you using?

I'm sorry both you guys are wrong!! You guys need to look at those pics again if the leaves are yellow when they're supposed to be green then they are hungry!!

brown tips nute burn.. but hay i've never done this before because i've only posted here a few times.. so it would be crazy to think i would know. if you think im wrong feed the shit out of them and when they turn brown and crispy you'll know who's right and who's wrong.. good luck.. not alot of knowledge here i c. just whats posted by others maybe..

Thanks everyone, got a lil more information here to mabe solve this finnaly because im kinda stuck between MORE nut's and NO nut's

well, here goes. The soil i used was B&Q multipurpose Compost for general use. I mixed the soil to contain like 15% perlite. The bulb was around 60 -70 cm above the plants. At first i was feeding them rain water for the first 4 weeks. Then i moved onto tap water.

Looks to me like they need more nitrogen

For sure they need nutes.
But my guess is that your main problem is you're keeping your soil too wet.
which is causing a lockout of magnesium.
Let them go dry a little and give them some nutes which contains all the
macro and micro elements.

You must know it all then, buddy said he didn't feed them for a month! That isn't nutrient burn because no nutrients were present to burn it!!

Wouldn't this oxymoron only apply if one was in full nute lock-out?
