New Grower - Closet Setup - Heat Issue

Hi RIU Commmunity! I'm brand new to growing now that its legal to do so here in Canada. I had one test run a few months ago and did OK with it, so i decided to step it up a bit and get serious about it. I recently upgraded my lights and now have some issues. Im looking for alternatives to cooling my closet, without getting AC. However if i have to get AC i will, and therefor would also love some recommendations on AC units while we're at it. As well as general tips, tricks and things to watch out for.

My grow space is roughly 2ft by 5ft. My equipment is as follows:
1 x BloomGrow 630W CMH Lights
1 x VIVOSUN 4 Inch 203 CFM Inline Duct Fan with Filter
2 x small Desk Fans

the light has a dimmable switch and can be set to any of the following
350w - 480w - 630w - SUPER(710w)

The goal is to be able to operate the lights at 630w for the full grow, and use SUPER during budding. Currently when operating at 630w, temperatures would push close to the 90s, while the temperature of the room floats around mid to high 70s. Ive been leaving my closet door open, and opening my rooms window just to keep it cool enough. I've also took a 20inch square fan and built a cardboard cone around it to funnel the airflow through a 10 by 10 passive vent in the closet door.

i added 2 pictures of the buds i grew the first time just for fun! the 2 kinds in the jars were from an auto mix pack i bought from cropkingseeds. While that super sketchy looking stuff was a random seed from a friend. Im assuming i should probably just throw that one out but i figured id get some feedback on why it looks like that.

Thanks!

Calculate the volume of the closet in cubic feet. Your fan will at best do 203 CFM without any restriction. See how many times a minute your fan is capable of moving the volume of the closet. You want at least 2 times a minute, better 3x since your ambient is in the high 70's sometimes. If you have enough CFM you should be able to stay within 5 degrees of the ambient (high 70's). That said it's generally hotter under the lighting but probably not as bad as HPS with the CMH. Ideally the ambient temps would be lower and/or you could exhaust the heat into another room.

the closet is 2 by 5 by 8. with a corner section of roughly 1.5 by 2 by 8. so we would be looking at 2x5x8 = 80 cubic feet for the main portion and ( 1.5x2x8 ) / 2 =.12 (halved because of the corner)
Thats 92. Giving me a 2.2 times a minute ratio. i feel like that should be enough to handle the heat but maybe ill have to get a bigger fan

Well it sounds like you need it to be cooler so a bigger fan and/or a cooler ambient room temperature is going to be required.

A 630cmh in 10square feet? No way you need that much light. On 480w you would be lighting the place up very well.
Make sure you ducting gets the heat right out of the house.
For what its worth those cut buds could of done with a good few weeks longer.

Thanks! just for clarity, are you referring to the jar buds when you say they could of used a few weeks longer or the white-ish ones?

The jarred ones look like they hadn't receded and bulked out yet.
The other pic, the white ones look bleached.

And to the OP -

Cause you're in a closet, I'm guessing you're looking for a quiet setup. Your current 4 inch fan would be decent for a 315 on a mover setup like I suggested. If you're going to stick to the 630, I would suggest going with a 6 or 8 inch fan, then turn it down a bit using a speed controller. Larger fans turned down tend to be quieter then small ones running at full speed.
