I put this little fucker in soil on dec.30 and it's looking pretty healthy. Just started lst training and gonna put in a scrog when my plant is around 14" tall. I'm growing with (3) 23watt cfls and (1) 68watt cfl. All actual watts. I'm growing in my cabinet and plan on putting 250watts of cfls in there.
Dimensions: 25 5/8" L x 18 7/8" W x 35 5/8" H
I'm using foxfarm ocean Forrest soil and no nutes at the moment. I got a single fan right now and a out take fan at the top. Also got a big square hole at the top so the hot air can escape. Thanks for strolling by!

I just got this thermostat and I'll hold it in front of my air conditioner and it'll be around 86 degrees but I know it's colder then that. Should I get another? Idk if this is accurate
You should always have something for just in case but looks good off to a good start

Ive been growing with this setup from seed and ive had only a minor heat problem in the beginning but raised the lights and it was growing just fine. I dont get why my temperature is reading over 90 degrees.

An interesting thing about my grow area is that if the temperature is too high, it also indicates that I'm not getting enough air flow. When my temperature is right, so many other things are right.

I have three thermometers. One high, one at bud level (also a remote thermometer) and a probe thermometer in the soil. Seems the probe is a good indicator of soil moistness (hot = dry, cool = wet), it has taken me several grows to be a good judge reading soil temp.

I can do without testing for pH, or ppm, or even how the plants look under the microscope, but the temperature is my most important measurement.

I was wondering instead of fans,is there a site where they sell portable mini air conditioners?

So today I have gave my plant its first feeding. Hoping to make it veg a little faster. 24-8-16

Fertilizer will not make anything go faster. It will make things bigger, but it won't make it faster. That's a common noob mistake.

Heres a little update on the temperature.

i just made the DIY air-conditioner and it's dropping the heat, right now its at 86 degrees.
I used a friends thermostat and its accurate,my box was around 100 degrees.
my plant seemed to be liking the heat tho lol

I did a couple of grows with 250w CFL's and had some very nice results, yield wise it didn't set the world alight but the smoke was ace. I'll be checking in to see how it goes for you, dunno where you live but that's one toasty room Youve got.

Im just gonna put my cab in the closet and leave the doors of the cab open. I think its my big cfl bulb thats giving off alot of heat.

Not sure where you live but it must already be fairly hot. It is surprising how much those big CFL's give off particularly in cabs/boxes. I had a 700mm x 700mm x 1200mm box with at one stage with one plant flowering in it tucked away in my garage. It had 2 x 250w CFLs in it and in summer it was not good and the computer fans I had rigged in 4 locations were no coping. I ended up putting my extractor from my 1.2mx1.2m tent on it as at the time they weren't being used. It was ball-ache though

I just moved my cab into my closet and took off the door panels. Its much cooler now even without the fans

Here's an update on my cfl closet cab grow. I haven't watered after I fed my plant. Plan on doing so later tonight or tomorrow. I just put my scrog in. Using a metal basket and just cut it.

Hows it looking so far?
