In my humble opinion....just my opinion.........either too much light or like Corso312 said "not enough oxygen"

hopefully someone else can reply too

The plants are suffering due to root issues. You havent listed a chiller, I don't see any maintance or anything listed regards the roots?

More detail to what your adding into the system, water temps, low, highest temp. Air puml size , flow rates etc

Water temp is 71 in the Rez.
Not exactly sure of air pump size ( will check tomorrow)
Low temp in room is 67
High temp is 77

What do you mean about flow rates? How long is take to flood the system then drain?

Below is what was in the Rez in week 2 and what I have now is week 3image.jpgimage.png

Wow.. That's a lot of stuff, Lotta guys use flora nova bloom from start to finish.. Nothing else and get amazing results. They mix in some tap water into to the RO water for calcium and MG.

Imo - Your roots in that pic look bad, for 3 weeks into bloom they are small and look unhealthy.

Go buy some guard n aid for your roots and a bottle of au60 to repair your roots and plant.. I have the same problem as you just with one plant! Took me 5 days to work it out.. This is what my plant looked like 20151228_192212.jpg

Hey everyone. I am a newbie grower on my 2nd run and This is my first post and I'm trying to be calm and research as much as I can as far as the problems I'm having, but I'm freaking out inside cause im getting conflicting answers. And even a 10 year grower is telling me he has little to no clue as to why this is happening and he's never seen this problem.

I will try my best to describe my problem.

Indoor grow
Start of Week 3 flower
Blue dream
8 1000 watt air cooled/ ducted lights
50% humidity. 77 degree max temp
R/O water
Ppm 1300
6.0 ph
Advanced nutrients
Feeding everyday
flood and drain bucket system
Planted in 4" rockwool cube surrounded by gs-1 hydro stones

Just a note here. These plants transfered into flower from veg amazing.

So in the second week of flower a few of my plants started to get this claw effect on the top and I read everywhere online that this is due to nitrogen toxicity ( and usually only happens in veg) but then I noticed that the lowest leaves of the plant were yellowing and dying off which is usually from nitrogen deficiency . My friend who has 10 years of experience has no idea what this claw is (I guess he grows well) and doesn't know what to do. He think it might be light stress so I turned all 8 lights down from 1000 to 600. It was His only suggestion. I don't really wanna sit here and wait and see what will happen. I want to try to salvage this. Hoping some masters on here can chime in and give their thoughts. I'll try to upload some pictures in the next post right now
First, welcome to RIU Daniel------no fun to be freaking out.

As @Corso312 suggested----looks like lack of oxygen to me too.

You mentioned flood and drain-----how are those buckets being drained to a rez?

What was your first run like?

Do you have a separate room for veg? If so, watts of light?

I gotta say to a newbie on his second grow with 8000 watts-----ballsy.

Later,

A~~~

I mean I see a good ammount of bubbles going through the rez. Maybe I should get a second one?

The system is on a timer and it a pump goes on and starts sucking everything back into the Rez after it gets flooded ( for about 6 minutes)

The first run was ok. I ran into heat problems because I was recommended the wrong ac but that's fixed now and I have a perfect room holding 74-77. Also my last run was just in rockwool and we just topfed the whole time cause the flood and drain wasn't set up yet.

Yes there is a seperate veg room. 600-1000 watts. The person who set up everything the last run had us finishing veg at a 1000 but yesterday another person told me I should just veg in 600 the whole time.

I think I'm just gonna take baby steps from here input with this run. I'll get those root repair nutrients and cut my mix in half and slowly work my way back up. I really have no clue what else to do other than that

So this your first run with this system?

It looks like your buckets are on the floor-----I assume your rez is sitting on the same floor? If true, how do the buckets empty and drain back to the rez?

Are there air stones in the buckets?

Is the person that set up your first run still around?

I remember the frustration of being a new grower with all the conflicting information. :wall:

My suggestion:

Study the journals here for that size operation and find one or two that appeals to your preferences.

Largest I've run is 6K flowering.

See my journal (link in my sig) if interested.

They are on floating wooden boards and the Rez is a little higher. I have 2 strong pumps for the fill and drain. It seems to fill and drain properly.
