New Grow

Well I finally got everything moved to the new house. I decided it was time to start up another grow. I have done a couple of pretty successful grows in the past so i decided to make a journal out of this one.

I'll be getting my tent and stuff set up over the next day or so, and I'll get pics of everything.

Herbie's hooked me up with some killer seed deals so I have a good selection to choose from.

Without further ado the Beans !!

I am still on the fence on which ones to start first. I'm thinking white widow, however feel free to chime in on your thoughts about the Beans I have.

Oooooh baby - looks like you're going for those auto-flowers which means you want a quick finish and low plant I'm assuming?

Those Bubba's Gift's finish incredibly fast so if you are controlling the photo-period you should pop that freebie in too. The smell is INCREDIBLE too.

You should maybe try and pop that 2 fast 2 vast with a few regular fast and vast to see if there's a noticeable difference too.

Those are some DARK seeds man - they really hooked you up.

Herbie's in a solid shop. I highly recommend them. I had an order go missing, and they refunded my $$$ an sent me these. I am going for shorter plants. And I have had really good results with autos before.

I'm thinking I'll do the 2fast and 2vast, a fast and vast, and critical + then. I have had all the rest, and I know I like them. I'm not set up to do 12\12 yet. My other tent is at a friends house, with some ladies finishing out flower. Once they are done. I'll run the bubbas gift, afghan reg, and three northern lights I have laying around.

I agree - Herbies is a top-notch site. Great customer service. I had an order go missing and they refunded me too. No bonus seeds though so you're a lucky dog!

Good luck with those girls - I'd love to see the comparison of the fast and vasts.

As for the Afghan regs - unless you have some good headroom, I'd avoid since they get pretty tall. I popped 3 just as insurance for my last grow. They're extremely vigorous and strong plants but they grow too tall and don't respond terribly well to topping. All 3 were males too so I chopped them. FAT leaves and an open structure. I read that the buds are long and thin and the smoke is heavy with a huge couch-lock effect.

I have 7 afghan freebies left, I might just play Johnny CannabisSeed and drop a few beans around my local park off in the woods and come back in a few months to see what I've got!

That would be awesome... I can see some one walking up on a massive plant... My tent is only 60 inces so that limits me somewhat.

I messed around with similar pots and had to keep watering my girls all the time. I'm a big fan of the 1-gallon smart pots. If you need starter cups - wide-mouth Dixie cups with some drainage holes at the bottom are perfect.

Pack of 5 for 15 on amazon.

They allow for significant air-flow to the roots, they drain easily, they're reusable, they're sturdy and provide tremendous results. I dissected a few of those afghani's I killed and their root structure was spread out, thickly matted little white spindles. Exactly what you want.

Awesome. Yea I'm just tired of transplanting tiny plugs. I use a hydrofarm mini hothouse with a heat mat. Works great but the plugs are small and delicate. And the out grow them quickly. I am looking for something that will allow me to grow them a bit longer before I transplant.

Well got some stuff accomplished today. I mixed my soil. Got my beans germinating. Got my start grow light set up.

If anyone is interested my soil is amazing and simple to make here are a few pics.

I start with this.

And then I mix all of these into it. I use all of the bags of each.

And here is after I mix it all up.

We thought I would show you guys the little led light that I use on my seedlings. It is comprised of four 18 watt full spectrum led bulbs. In a 4 way fixture

Here it is switched on.

And here is a shot of the mini hot house in use with the heat mat.

I used FFOF for along time. I just cant get it where I am anymore. I forgot to add I mix the above ingredients with a 2cu ft bag of Kellogs brand patio plus. I wind up with nearly 3 cu ft of soil for like 20 bucks. Coincidentally I am out of soil right now and was unable to finish planting all of my ladies into their three gallon bags. I intend to pick up some more soil this evening and once I get everything in their new bags ill update with pics.
