New Grow Room setup Please Help

I could really use some help from you guys. I'm starting a new grow and I have very little experience. I have been to Oaksterdams weekend seminar, Ive read a couple books including "Marijauna Horticulture" the indoor/outdoor medical growers bible, and about 40 differnt posts and I'm still confused
I just bought 2 Secret Jardin Dark rooms, 1 4'X4 for clones and veging and a 4'X8' for flowering.

My 1st question is for the 4'x8' would I be better off with 2) 600watt HPS lights 2) 1000 watt HPS lights or a single 1000watt HPS. According to the GB growers bible the 2)600's is the way to go, but I was told by someone else not to exccede 1000watts in that size room????????

2nd question which bulb should I get for that room, a Super HPS, a Sun Master Cool deluxe, etc, etc.

i would recomend the 2 600 watts as the yeild will be good off 2 plants and just look into them figure out which ones have more lumens thats the way to go unless it much higher than the other and not much diffrence in the lumens would pay to pull a chair up and watch this grow thats a good amount of light for 2 plants

I'd go with two 600s, you'll cover more area than with a single 1K.

I agree with the above posters, you can get closer to your plants with the 600s so you wont have to worry about height as much. As for bulbs, i know the Hortilux bulbs are very popular for growing. GL with your grow sir

I am confused. This is mostly for fun. Most posts of this nature are advised a trio of 600s. 2 1000 watters would also work. I have a 4x4 tent. I run 1 600. Thinking about it 2 600 watters would work fine for you but come on lets dream a little and say 2 1000 watters for that pene!

This is a case where more isn't always better. You only have 8 feet square..if you go 2k, you're going to have heat issues like crazy. That's overkill for that grow area.

Shit, 2 400 watters would suffice.

I'm sorry I may have made it confusing. I am going with a single 600watter in the 4X4 for vegging
I'm pretty sure that along with a T5 for cloning and seeds will be good.

My question was for the 4X8 would 2) 600 watters be good or can I use 1) 1000watter?

I think that 2) 1000's would be over kill and cause heat problems.

i would also go with two 600's over one 1000.. you have more options with two lamps over using just one, and will be able to cover a greater area then you would be able to with just one 1k.. and i would think that you would be able to get the two 600's a lttle closer to the plants without worrying as much about heat issues as you would with the 1000, unless of course you are using aircooled, which would help cut down on the heat and allow you to get the lamps much closer to the plants..
best of luck. how did you like the oaksterdam classes? was it worth your time, and did you learn anything good ... i would love to take that class, but since i live nowhere no oakland, it is a problem, and you are the first person who i have heard of who has said they have taken these classes..

dont waste wattage on vegging and cloning with 600!!! 400 max for those unless you need to grow big and keep numbers of plants down...
i am changing my 400w mh out for all t5, which you can get at lowes and hd now.
i am in a 4x4 tent as well for veg. and the heat differential between 400w and the t5's is night and day. plus t5s have a better more even lumen spread. saving on electricity is also a big factor.

now on to flower room

im going to be working with same size tent for this as well. right now it is just sectioned off. but i digress. heat issues can always be remedied. 2x1k = greater coverage and more lumens = more bud... however 3x600w = more coverage and less wattage! just by adding another light.

I was going to split the 4x4 with a t5 on the bottom for seeds and clone rooting and the 600w mh on top for vegging and 3 mothers. But thats why I'm asking because I am new and this is my 1st grow. I don't want to have to upgrade later if I can get the right sizes now but I don't want to overkill this either. I am buying all air vented lights 6" in the 4x4, 8" in the 4x8.
I'm going to order this stuff next week and my head is spinning from all the options. I'm making most of these decisions from what I read in the GB and some from Oakstedam and people I know.
I'm already a little pissed because I just bought the tents (Secret Jardin) because everything I read here and on THC Farmer was good. Then today I got on International Cannagraphic and they ripped them hard and said they were shit comapared to the silver hut????? wtf I don't know what to believe.
I'm not afraid to invest the money and I only want to buy this stuff once.

And for Oaksterdam it was definately worth every penny. I'm on the east coast so Its not next door for me either. I was amazed that my class which filled up about 2 months before it was schedule was about 2/3 calli people and the rest of us for from all over the rest of the country. I learned a ton about the laws, the movement to legalize, growing, making hash,oils,extracts, and cooking. THe main reason I'm doing this for my pain issues from nerve damage I have been dealing with for 10 years now since I suffered a broken neck. I also learned alot about different strains and the effects they have when dealing with different medical issues. I also met a lot of great people and made some good local contacts near where I live. It cost me $250 for the class, $500 for a plane ticket, and about $250 for the hotel. It was worth a ton more than that.
