new GH flora feeding schedule versus old

I have a question for any of the GH experts out there regarding the latest feeding schedule versus the previous one. The older schedule had veg and bloom ratios in standard and "aggressive" amounts, but the new one just has a single option which seems pretty weak by comparison. I am wondering if anyone knows why it changed and for what reason.

My last few grows I went by the aggressive schedule with no other additives outside the 3 part flora and never suffered any harm. Everything surpassed expectations. It seems to me that either GH is calculating in other additives into its new ratios or just being a nervous nelly about what they officially publish. I personally liked the tiered schedule they had before for those who like to push the ppm's.

Is the new schedule just worthless liability laden bare minimums or is there a reasoning behind it? I am just curious and couldn't seem to find anyone discussing it when searching.

but is it so save money at the expense of higher yielding ratios or superfluous ratios? Basically I'm asking if the new feeding schedule is weaksauce when it comes to end product yields.

I'm not sure what you mean. I too use GH flora series. but what do you mean by schedule? I mix the grow mix for grow and when I flower, I use the bloom mix.

There is no magical ratio of NPK. The plant will use what it needs, no more, no less. I would run the PPMs a little lower than that schedule. 500 - 700 ppm in vegetative and 800 - 1100 ppm in flowering. I have noticed they use more water at slightly lower PPM concentrations.

G, I've had the same question and haven't yet found a definitive answer. I've even written in to GH tech support and will share if they respond.

To get my head around this I wrote up a comparision chart of various schedules. Three are from Progressive Growth's website, two are from GH's iPhone app, and the top schedule is the current official GH "expert drain to waste" schedule. Because GH sets their ratios to US gallons, and Progressive Growth is Canadian and uses Imperial gallons I set all of these to US Gallons to avoid confusion.

GH current feed schedule "expert drain to waste":

*example early bloom:

(gro-micro-bloom) 1-4-5 ml per US Gallon (3.79L)

ProG Scott's schedule per US Gallon at same stage: (flower week 2)

(gro-micro-bloom)2.5-5-10 ml

ProG Thom's schedule per US Gallon at same stage: (flower week 2)

(gro-micro-bloom)2.5-5-10 ml

GH iPhone app schedule per Gallon at bloom stage:

(gro-micro-bloom)2.5-5-7.5 ml

GH iPhone app "Aggressive" schedule at bloom stage:

(gro-micro-bloom)0-5-10 ml

ProG's standard schedule per US Gallon at same stage: (flower week 2)

(gro-micro-bloom)2.5-5-10 ml

hopefully I'll hear back from GH at some point but I've decided to switch from GH's official schedule to the amounts listed by their iPhone app. It seems middle of the road compared to expert tested schedules and what GH is now putting out.

Sorry guys I'm talking to myself here but if this ends up being clarified these notes might be helpful..

Thanks Frank. I think for now I am going to stick with the older feeding schedule. Let us know what you hear back! :)
