Just went out to eval the damage. It's almost total. Rot, mold, wind damage...went from looking beautiful to garbage in a few days. I think I'm done in the ground. I'd rather not go thru this again. Its small plants I can move and autos for me from now on I guess. Real bummer...

Could I go ahead and harvest this whole branch before it all dies ? Some buds have rot and most of the hairs have turned red . The rest of the plant still needs a week or two I believe .

You've raised a good question. When do you hang tough and let them go longer versus harvesting early and trying to get something? It's the growers dilemma.

General overall condition of the respective plant(s) is one consideration. A healthy plant that had a couple of mold spots treated and removed might get watched closely and given more time. Especially if the weather forecast is favorable.

A plant that seems to have given up and sports new mold everyday is one that gets the chop or at least a bud / branch trimming. Mold spores are always looking for new opportunity to parasite another neighboring plant. A little wind and they're chomping on the next plant tomorrow. Welcome to outdoor growing.

I'm going to try some actinovate. Omri certified and many people swears it prevents and kills bud rot.
There was just a thread on here with that product, however in that thread they had bought the lawn and garden type of that product, and there is also a fruit and vegetable product available, I'm wondering if it matters?

Thanks for the info because this product is new to me and I'm dealing with fungi half the year inside :/

Not sure anything would work with more freaking rain coming down now :(

I chopped one of my trees in total that was most affected with bud rot / mold before it got too bad yesterday and this morning. Drying the good bud / branches now. Still 2 trees remaining, but those may need to come down this weekend. Trying to hang in there but the weather is NOT helping. Freaking rain out, again, right now ! I suppose I should feel fortunate I am not in the Carolinas, but still smaller potted moveable plants in MA may be a better bet next year. I did love the incredible size and cola potential the plants were showing until Florence ruined my ego and my crop. I thought indoor growing was a challenge, but the shit you gotta deal with outside and can't control does SUCK.

Sorry for your loss. Sucks. Hope you can salvage something. I am trying to make the best possible drying as many good branches and saving sugar leaves. Florence surely diminished my outlook on in ground growing in the North East. Not sure what I'll do next year.

I’m just wondering if I can cut the bad branch out and let the rest go alittle longer . The rest of the plant is thriving .
Why not? If you worried it is going to infect the rest cut it down and let the rest go....I had the same situation, even though i do not have the experience as some of the others my thought was...i already have rot, so at this point im compromised already, might as well cut the bad one out and let the rest go, whats the worst that can happen? maybe the rot will spread maybe it wont but by removing it maybe you have a better chance it wont.
