Here is a question for you NE outdoor veterans...about sativas in our neck of the wood and stretching.

My indicas are stacked. The nodes up at the buds are millimeters apart. Super tight. Just bang, bang, bang. Right on top of each other.

Same sunlight as my sativa...which I know is stretching because it's going into flower...but the nodes arent tight stacked together. Is this normal for sativa stretching or am I growing wispy larff? I have never had spindly plants before because my spot gets so much sun, but...maybe not enough for sativas in the ground?

Is it a mistake to compare indicas to sativas in terms of what structure translates into for yeild and bud density? I dont know if "that's the way she goes" with sativas regardless of how much light they get or if its my inexperience showing.

I got the same thing going with my sativas for the outside grow. Inside grow however they are stacked and tight.

Today's pictures, budding to beat the band. This is the larger one about 6.5', the second one is a little smaller about 6' and behind this one by week or a little better, but it is coming along nicely as well. Pretty happy with them so far.

Not New England, but for me, that space between buds is golden when it's raining everyday. I popped seeds about a month ago from my more sativa strains to cross with all my Shit/Skunk strains that have had so much rot. I'm hoping to increase the space between buds and move back the start to flower.

I had always grew sativa leaning strains, and never had bud rot. It was only when I got the big sticky indica buds that I ran into problems.

Interesting. That's good to know. Makes sense, that is exactly what happened to me last year with my 2 white widows. They were stacked and I had to cut way earlier then I wanted because I was so afraid of what would happen to them because of the weather.

Special drying? I had an inside grow branch break off about 2 weeks ago due to weight and late low stress training (had to do this as the plants were growing up into the light). So I have a single 8 inch cola now hanging to dry. It has been about two weeks and incredible how moist it still is, I think it needs at least 2 more weeks but check this often. My other grows generally about 2 weeks dry time before the mason jar curing. Can you clarify special drying? Thanks.

Nice! Now the fun starts.

For me, this is the reason I grow. All the seedling stuff, nutes, babying them, bringing them in a out in bad weather, pruning, spraying, watering, ph testing, humping water, inspecting leaves, etc etc..

It's all for these 2 months when I get to come outside and see how the buds have grown and changed. If I smoked, I can imagine the excitement would be 10x. It's just an awesome plant. It takes so much work, but for what I get out of these next 2 months, its totally worth it.

Got a newbie question. I water my two plants every 3-4 days, depending on the soil moisture. Every other watering, I have been giving nutes. I understand the amount of nutes, 1-3 teaspoons/gallon for example. My question is this. Should I add enough nutes for all 4 gallons, or just one gallon for each plan, of nute mix. all summer I have been giving them full nutes, just wondering if I am over doing it.

As a fellow newbie, I'd say, "how do they look?" If they look good and arent burnt then you arent over doing it.

If they are showing deficiencies, I'd up it.

I'd start by doing whatever the instructions say, per gallon, for every gallon you are using.

Then adjust based on what the plant is telling you. Good growth? No burn? No deficiency? Healthy looking? Then you are good (or can even push it a little more if you feel like they need it).

Not getting the growth you are expecting? Yellowing leaves? Other symptoms of an unhappy plant? Up it little by little until they look happy.

No special technique. Just meant a close eye. My sativa was ready for curing within a few days. Sooner than i expected.

It's been flowering for a few weeks, and it's already great looking. Everything else is just starting to show buds.
If I can keep her alive to harvest...she is going to be a nasty...nasty girl.

I never would have thought that a sativa would become my bottom bitch. I might have to get some special nutes for her.

She looks like she's in a pot that will permit you to move her to shelter if it rains etc. That's the beauty of smaller containers, you can stash them in the shed, barn, basement etc. if nasty weather comes calling. Good luck with her the rest of the way.

I'm curious where you got the seeds? A friend has a couple of Amnesia Haze from Barney's Farm going indoors. Wonder if he should of stuck one outside...hmmm.

edit - I think Barney's Farm version might be an Amnesia Haze x Lemon Skunk.
