Your plants look happy, but they secretly wish they had more root space. Size matters to them.

If you're concerned about transplant problems, you could situate your 5 gallon containers on top of larger soil filled containers and maybe cut a few holes in the bottom of the 5 gallon containers. The roots will find their way into the expanded area and your plants will respond accordingly.

If you do that kind of transplant, consider burying the bottom 5th or so of the 5 gallon container into the top of the soil of the larger bottom container. Roots will get the idea quicker that way. Maybe try just one ?
Oh man...trust me, it's no secret. Hahaha. They've been wanting more room for weeks. I planned on a few small plants this year staying in 5gal pots until harvest, and now they are exploding. I might drop a couple in a much bigger container to see what happens. Nothing would make me happier then to transplant them into 20gal or bigger, but I'm worried it's too late, being so close to flower.

Now you have me thinking though...they would love it and get massive...

Your plants look great! Are you from New England? I am new to this site. I do not see any yellowed leaves. I ahve outdoor and some of the leaves are yellowing. Curious what nutrients you use, are they beginning to flower?
Yup. South Shore, MA. And welcome! This is my second season on this site. Last year was my first time growing anything. This is an awesome place...

They are doing well so far. I should have gone bigger with my smart pots. I chickened out.
There are some (1 or 2 per plant) yellow leaves deep inside that I usually leave on until they are almost falling off. I'm using this stuff for flower nutes...top dressing once a month. Adding the occasional boost of that Alaska fish emulsion stuff.

They are deff getting ready to be in full blown flower. They have started already I think, very early stages. Last year I didnt see the first actual budlettes until around Aug 10. Fingers crossed for this year...

Hows your grow going?

I could just cut the pots off I guess. They arent that expensive. I never really planned on going bigger but now you guys have me thinking.

When you say dumb pots, I'm assuming that means you dont like these? I thought they would be good for keeping some smallish plants. With the air pruning they talk about, was thinking that would be better then a plastic pot... Not sure if that's true. I know literally nothing about what I'm doing when it comes to growing.

I'll do it. I have some totes and some old garbage cans.

Question on the soil...I have like 8 bags of left over top soil in bags from doing some work on the lawn. Could I use that?

Sounds good. Thanks. I just need to go grab a deer fence. I'm guessing they love these plants when they flower.

Well I know during veg they like them. I had one on my deck and I swear if I hadn't been out they're the deer would have come up on the deck and just started eating it. So yeah I always put fences around mine!

I checked out some of doctors gear but the price he wants for some of those packs scared me off. I've heard his lines are tight but there seems to be alot of hit and miss reviews from some irate people. I mostly run a mix of stuff from peak seeds and dinafem. I tried some house of the great gardener this year as well as a few pollen chunks I did a few years back. The headband came from a jar of stuff I got from an LP here in Canada, the smoke was right and i got lucky to find one seed that showed female.
I love the look of that honey bee x skidder. The colors are phenomenal

I never knew stalks where so bragged about! Mine are Lolly popped this year so they are growing different but still impressive.
They're all tall as I am now some taller!! Bugs are awful on my buds making me a little cranky. Tarnish bettle love new growth and that's my buds starting.
Candy Kush is still going strong me and the mister can't wrap our arms around her anymore
Buds are starting to take form

Not bad with getting things in late and having 40 degree night ask through July

I did it. Got them out no problem by making 1 cut down the side. Didnt even disturb the dirt on the sides, they were so bound.

Moved 5 of them into a new pen I built next to my blueberry and Blackberry bushes...it looked like this...

Couldn't get them all in, but got the 5 biggest and most healthy evaced to their new home. It's a 10x12 area so they have some room to stretch. Gave them a light snack and soaked em down with 5 gallons each. Hopefully they start looking great over the next week. Anxious about them bouncing back. Its half my crop...And Im exhausted. Hahaha

I was in a similar position a few weeks ago but instead of actually removing them I ended up just cutting large holes at the bottom/sides of my 5 gallon buckets to let the roots grow through. Then "planted" the buckets into the regular garden a few inches deep. Seems to be working out ok!
