new ec meter

hi i got a new ec meter today it says its factory calibrated. i'm using coco with ionic nutes. just started the flower cycle so my veg nutes are 4.5 mil per litre a nats cock away from nute burn ( max strength of ionic coco Grow 5mil per litre**bolocks** ), but looking fine. my ec truncheon says e.c 0.7 and im not sure if i trust it. this is the first time i've used one and that reading seems way too low, am i being paranoid i would of thought it should be closer to 1.5ec reading from the rough guides found. any advise

What make is it? Mine's an Adwa. You need to calibrate it. Once you know what ur tap water is (mine is EC 0.45 so I use RO) Buy calibration fluid or use the sachets that came with it. I hope ur using RO as EC0.7 incl tap water is very low. I don't use Ionic. Shouldn't your EC be higher if u just switched to 12:12 ?

that what i thought. i got singed leaf tips only very minor at 4.8 mil per liter so i backed off the nutes down to 4.5 ml and they're going strong. got the calibration fluid on order now. see what happens
