New cob light setup Citizen or vero 29S? looking for best bang for your buck chip

just bought 2 100 watt 2 cob go green led's using citizen clu048 chips.. 4000k, i know a 3000k-3500k is optimal for bloom.. i will be running the 2 4000k citizens along with 2 315 watt cmh lamps at 3100k.. i have a 4ftx6ft table,,i think running 2 315's and 2 100 watt citizens should be great coverage will the 3100k and 4000k create a balanced spectrum?
would u guys think running 3 315 watt cmh lamps over the 4x6 table would be better? or will the mix of 2 cmh and 2 100 watt cobs cover just as well and save me on wattage? 3 315=945 watts, 2 315's +2 100 watt citizens=830watt total...thoughts?
has anyone actually done some runs with the 100 watt citizen cobs from go green,,id like to hear how anyone has had results with the citizenclu048 4000k led's????

First off I believe you picked the right spectrum for the citi's it has as much red as the 3500K but more blue. The citi's spectrums are not the same as cree on a per Kelvin basis people find this out when they start looking at the charts.

Number two. I do not think you can go wrong either way using the combo of cmh and COB's or just straight COB's. I think for now run with the combo you have you can always add more light later. But (3) 315's would definitely kill it in that space. I would not mess with the spectrum on the citi's any further if it was me and just stick to the 4K.

@Tim Fox Just built his 4K Citi 1812 light and hung it up yesterday and his plants are loving it. He took down an old build with Cree 3070's, we will soon see what the results are but his plants are happy so far.

thanks, i did 3 runs using 3 315's and hit 1.6 gpw, 30 plants on a 4x6 f&d table.i then did a run using 2 315's for the first 3 weeks of bloom the from week 3 - finish had all 3 315's and still got 1.56 gpw, not bad imo. i know electric saving not a big priority for growers,, idk if we pay more for electric here in upper mi. but i went from $800.00 a month running 2 600 watt hps to just under $700.00 a month running 3 315's, my hope is running 2 315's and 2 100 watt cobs will get me closer to 600.00 a month...wile keeping my yields and QUALITY top notch

IMHO, switching your grow from the CMH to COB's let's say if you went that way would not be worth it unless you built your own lights because of the cost involved to go Pre built COB. And something else has to be off doesn't make sense that your bill went up basically using the same amount of watts as the HPS which produce more heat than the CMH...........

i can say ive been very happy with the ceramics, after 20 years of growing with hps and mh i never got much better than 1.2 gpw,, since i switched to cmh i hit 1.4gpw on my first run,, i was really impressed,,since then ive continually improved, averaging 1.5 gpw over 5 seperate runs.. im now interested in led,, but havnt really dove in yet,, i want to try these citizens and see how it goes,, it seems a 315 watt ceramic is equivilant to say 450 watts hps or a bit more, my guess is led,,, will be like 250 watts equivilant to 315 watts ceramic...not sure,, but ill find out??

CLU048 is a series, not a chip. you can bet they used two of the cheap 1212s in there (or possibly even the cheaper 1211s), which would make this an utter lie:

"Citizen COBs offer superior output per watt of any LED grow light!"

sure they do.... just not the particular chips they used. Thats basically the equivalent of somebody using a CXA2540 and suggesting it is comparable to a CXB3590...

theres a pretty big range between the 1212s and the 1818s that cost twice as much.

another lie:"Full Spectrum: 380nm-780nm"

::facepalm::

i dont like to talk shit on competitors but misleading advertising does nothing to educate the consumers

Do i need to order anything else other then the 4 1825 and the 4 120A drivers. do i need separate drivers for the fans on the light engines, or any other connectors to wire it all up?

-a junction box and ac cord if you want it all on one plug (home depot or ebay - ill stock these eventually. ill prob end up just throwing IEC sockets on the drivers for now for the "kits"

id venture to guess that watt for watt the go green is gonna be right in line with the cmhs,
at 50W & Tc= 65 the 1212s are 143 lm/W, based on an LER of 338 (assuming 4000k 80 cri), thats 42% efficient, less driver and lens losses, ~35% as a fixture

is there a way you can find out what series was used in these lamps? i just recieved them and there is no data sheet or spec sheet in box,, only the lamp and a paper asking to give good reviews to amazon and if displeased to call a number to go green.... i would really like to know... i can say they are bright, and verry little heat.. sais they can cover a 3ftx18inch area,, but im using them to suppliment along side 2 315 watt ceramics.. OH AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THE INFO!! I APPRECIATE IT

My build is still on paper but for my 3x3 flower tent might be the
200 Watt Citizen CLU048 (4) COB Grow Light Kit 4000k
Plus
250 Watt Citizen CLU048 (5) COB Grow Light Kit 3000k

1 cob per sqft, 3000k in each corner plus center and the 4000k filling in the in betweens. Possibly dial it down to 35-40w each. Would I be better to run w/o the reflectors? Peace!!

i dont know what this is.

"CLU048" can describe one of 4 different size chips
CLU048/1212, forgot to mention that. Only an idea in my head.

I also seen a 6 cob build for a 3x3 tent. Cobs(1818), holders, reflectors, thermal pads from your shop.

if youre going with pinfins time youre into pinfins/holders/reflectors/etc i think the $5 per setup upgrade from a 1212 to a cxm22 is a good buy.

if youre doing a bunch of bare chips on extruded bar heatsinks 1212 is a better deal

The following kit includes a 3000K 80CRI CXM22 COB, mounted to a 120mm passive pinfin cooler . Includes 36″ leads of 2-conductor 300V-rated wire and is tested and ready to wire

Best used at 1050(54W) or 1400 mA (73W)

How many would you recommend in a 3x3 tent and @ what MA. What driver would be best suited. Thx

Would do be passively cooled? I'm assuming it is but I'm a noob lol
