can a 12yo child afford AU$18 a packet, advertising for cigarette have been banned in this country for 10+ years
I don't know how Aussie is. But here all the twelve year old needs to do is ask an older dumbnut. $5 aint shit to come by in the USA. So yes in my area kids get cigs quite easy.

I think a 12 y/o would be more interested than put off by these pics lol.
Putting pics on the packs won't stop that kid smoking, the shop owner doing his job and the parents educating their kids will.
I can't remember the last tobacco ad I seen, so putting pics on the packs isn't going to stop anything. Kids aren't stupid they see healthy people smoking everyday and then are told this WILL happen if you smoke. They think WTF? whos telling the truth? oh well I'll find out for myself.
Exactly how I started smoking
Do you wish you never started. Does it benefit your lifestyle?

That is irrelevant, pictures did not make me start.
I started because of hypocritical BS that is told to kids about drugs, because I wanted to find out for myself.
Does eating icecream when I'm stoned benefit my lifestyle? No but I enjoy it and that's all that should matter

I smoked for 12 years and quit cold turkey. It will be two years on 12/14. If you want to quit you will find a way, just stop making excuses.

They do that all over. And its not bad. If u were 13 and saw that shit you wouldnt smoke a cig anyway. cigs aint cool, they are fucking proven killers. why would you care if thats on the package?? do you LIKE smoking cigs? i think NOBODY does, i been smoking cigs going on 10 years soon, and i hate it.

THAT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. TO DETER CHILDREN/YOUNG ADULTS FROM BUYING THEM. SMOKING KILLS, AND RUINS EVERY SINGLE PART OF YOUR HEALTH IF YOU CONTINUE TO SMOKE CIGS. lol, but i cant quit for life, which is why im trying.
You ought to give nicotine gum a try. I quit smoking in July and have been using N gum to help with the cravings. N gum does not completely eliminate the cravings, but it helps.

N gum itself is addictive, but as far as I can tell nicotine is not harmful in small doses, and you don't really crave the gum very much. I started out chewing ten pieces per day and now I chew two or three.

Nicotine is actually a neurotoxin ;)

I know that. In small amounts it is a stimulant, though, and not harmful. Many "normal" things are lethal when taken in high doses. Ordinary water will kill you if you drink too much at one sitting.
Water is non-toxic, meaning it doesn't damage cells.

Nicotine is a neuro-toxin, that means it damages cells in the central nervous system.

Please look up the definition of toxic.

Thank you please.

Not in the doses found in a cigarette, or nicotine gum.

Many plants produce nicotine, tomatoes and potatoes, for example. I am horrified that you don't know that a typical Irishman's seven course meal (a six-pack and a potato) contains nicotine. :-)

"There is considerable evidence that nicotine is present in certain human foods, especially plants from the family Solanaceae (such as potatoes, tomatoes, and eggplant)."

You realise it's still a neurotoxin, right? Regardless of dosage.

The same as some of the posters here are still human, regardless of how retarded.

Yes, but in small doses I doubt it kills brain cells.

Regarding the humanity of some of the retarded posters here, that is not conclusively proven.

I thought you guys might like to see this, coming to a store near you ...

This is how the current government treats us in Australia, thank you Nicola Rixon (ex health minister and who is the current attorney general, look out data retention which another story all together)

I know some people are totally against smoking cigarettes but this is way over the top
are you guys gonna put pictures of shrunken brains and wrecked livers on the petrol pumps too?

or would that be racist?
